I have read a few postings on various sites (rumors more than anything) that JSS will be Queen's new singer.

Like I said, probably more rumor than anything else, but it would be a neat thing if he did sing for them.

Whatever he chooses, I'll still buy the albums he's on. Heck, I'd love for him to record with Yngwie again.

    Hello all,

Can somebody let me know what the difference is between the TIHIF album version, and the radio edit on the Warcon release?

Also, I've seen a few different online stores indicating different things about the Warcon release (some havin the radio edit as a bonus track, some having a video)...what is the line-up for the Warcon release?

    Thanks,
    sean

I do apologize if this is in the wrong section, but I came across this video of Burn mixed with Beethoven's Symphony no.5. It's rather neat.

A collaboration of Seikima-II and Kryzler and Kompany...enjoy!

    Hello all,

A while ago I read on some website that the Texas Tommy Bolin tribute shows from few years ago were recorded, and some small independent label was going to release a CD. But since then I have read/heard nothing more about it.

I was curious if anybody had any idea if these shows were indeed recorded, and if there are any plans to get them out? I figure if they do get released it would be via the Tommy Bolin Archives. In any event, the shows were great, and Glenn Hughes sounded fantastic. Some good renditions of Bolin, Trapeze, and DP songs.

    Cheers,

Overdubbing happens all the time on live stuff, both CD and DVD.
I think the idea, from a business standpoint, is to put out the best possible final product that the most consumers would fork out the money for. Sure there are those that want the raw live stuff, but that is usually the hardcore fans and they tend to get bootlegs to get that true live sound.

I don't think any "live" release is live in the true sense of the word. Overdubs happen to make it sound better. So what if Coverdale has done it? Kiss has, Frampton has, Cream has, Gary Moore has...it's all about the end product and what will bring in the money. In Frampton and Kiss' case both Frampton Comes Alive and Kiss Alive weren't even done in concert, but both are top selling live albums.
Even John Sykes did some overdubs on "Bad Boys Live."

Why would an artist and record company put out something that has shoddy vocals, or a bad note here and there? Of course they will make it better in the studio so it will sell.

Most consumers can't detect the overdubs, so in the grand scheme of things it's really no big deal.

The Whitesnake video is great! The vocals, wheter they be overdubs or "live" are good. And the band is good. The DVD is well worth getting.

I have not visited that board in a while. Was it a matter of people posting that they didn't like Glenn's style or disappointed in career direction (stuff like that), or was it just out and out rude stuff being posted?

I would hope that it wasn't taken down just because somebody posted they didn't like a certain aspect to Glenn's music.

I read that the EMI Deep Purple box set, soon to come out, will have pre-DP songs by each member in the group. It didn't really give much more detail than that.
I was wondering if anybody knew what Glenn's pre-DP song might be?

    cheers,
