Yes, another sad loss that brought up old memories. The festival in Scheessel in 1973 was the first open air festival that I ever joined. I can still remember bits of it but I think Ten Years After were announced and didn't play while Chuck Berry played for about 10 minutes and disappeared again...

Thanks for that interesting interview with Derek, Yvonne! So there might still be a slight chance of replacing Joe for some live gigs? Well, they should get these things sorted out before all the fans are gone in disappointment. That thought isn't new but it doesn't seem to get anywhere.
To be honest, I don't understand the twitter activities of the BCC account. And why is the forum suddenly available again, what for?
I'm surely not the only fan who's really fed up about the development of BCC. And I'm truly not interested to waste any more time in that BCC forum or with any activities that have to do with JB's management. What for? For another kick in the ass? They've blown it. BCC was on its best way to make rock history and they've blown it for the solo career of JB. Okay, nobody expected BCC to become that big. But when it happened they should have been flexible enough to change plans, at least for a few years to see if BCC really would have kept following the winning street.
Now I'm looking forward to the next activities of Glenn and I really hope he's got a nice new band together to hit the road again, soon. -
Hmm...hmmm...it sounds too good but it would fit like a puzzle and explain why Robert Plant suddenly mentioned that he's got lots of spare time in 2014. Is he worried that his mate might join another rock band and become really successful again?
Maybe Tony Conley was looking into the future with his review about "The Crawl" over 5 months ago? Definitely sounds as if Jimmy Page would be great for playing "Afterglow" live with the lads:
QuoteThe Crawl suggests that if this thing with Bonamassa doesn't work out, maybe Hughes should bring in Jimmy Page - of course, that's some presumptuous trash to be talking on many fronts, but damn. Bonamassa actually does a fantastic Page here - not so much in what he plays, but rather his artful orchestrations.

Can't wait til late summer...

It would surprise me if this working together would mean more than a DP tribute album but we'll see. Drums, bass, vocals, keyboards shouldn't be a problem but I'm very curious about the guitar player in the new band :p
-
Well, that would be too great if it would be true. Asking J&R Adventures this week the answer didn't sound as positive:
"Unfortunately, there are no tour dates scheduled as of yet. I am not sure if they have the intentions of planning anything this year." -
Thanks a lot, Shirean! That clip just touched my heart really deep inside. It's an amazing piece of music and wonderful performed but the lump in my throat grew by watching Robert Plant. You could see what this song meant to him, to me he looked very sentimental and full of memories.
Jason did a great job again as well and I loved his gesture at the end towards the old fellows.
Hell, I gotta save this under my favs on YT... -
Now that would be cracker! Joe's tied up until the end of 2013 and if he agrees that Doug Aldrich gets in to tour with BCC and every one else agrees as well, especially Doug himself, get it done and tour!

Dear Gabi,
best wishes, quick recovery and don't forget Yin-Yang: every bad thing happening has a good thing coming with it, too -
There are so many good ones that I couldn't just pick one song for best vocal. But there's one where his voice knocks me off my feet every time I hear it: The Golden One! You know that snippet?

Pheeew...just gave me goose pimples again... -
I like this little Swiss page for their charts worldwide when there are just a few European countries listed
But it's still interesting and great to see how Afterglow is jumping into all the charts!

Good news via twitter by Glenn and Kevin Shirley and also in Classic Rock:

Plus: BCC are featured in the next edition of Classic Rock Magazine, number 179, on sale December 5 -
# 9 in the German album charts
www.einslive.de/musik/charts/albumcharts.jspYepp, I was just reading about the new entry straight at #9 in the German album charts (by Media-Control) as well. Great, big congrats!
Some Rock sites are quoting the positions of Rock albums in the ordinary charts:
www.rockhard.de/news/newsarchiv/newsansicht/34222-deutsche-albumcharts-kw-45-12.html
And I keep reading very positive reviews in German, i.e. this one:
www.burnyourears.de/reviews/cd/18653-black-country-communion-afterglow or this one: www.musikreviews.de/reviews/2012/Black-Country-Communion/Afterglow
I like the statement:
"Hughes could cough into the micro and Bonamassa could play with an off-tuned axe - it would make you addicted." -
Thanks a lot, that name rings a bell somehow (sorry for not knowing better). I just looked at his website and beside touring this year with Quiet Riot and releasing a new album he announces some new tour dates to come for "ROCK NEVER STOPS"...

I just stepped over a very nice German review (it's nearly two weeks old, so I hope it hasn't been posted yet) where the reviewer gives 9 out of 9 points!
www.musicheadquarter.de/reviews/cds/black-country-communion-machen-ihrem-status-als-supergroup-mit-afterglow-alle-ehre
And on amazon.de there are meanwhile 17 customer reviews, 16 with 5 stars and one with 4 stars. Looks like the people in Germany love this album! -
Very nice interview! I like the way Glenn seems to be able to talk a bit more relaxed again. The last interviews he was hardly smiling and didn't seem to feel very comfortable. I thought he looked hurt and very fragile. Now he's joking again and enjoying life...good!
And yes, I like that part where Gabi walks up as well
But who's that long haired guy who walks up before and then turns back again. Funny bugger...:p -
I'm holding back now as well because I don't wanna cause more ill-feeling. It's upsetting me and some articles/interviews speak for themselves, here's one more of Joe:
www.soundspike.com/story/4872/joe-bonamassa-stays-busy-with-afterglow-daylight -
That's a question only J&R can answer!
Okay, maybe I will ask them per mail then - plus a few other questions as well. Don't know if they take fan questions as serious as Kevin Shirley but we'll see... -
Thanks a lot for the lyrics! It's great to listen to the songs and read the lyrics as well, one of my favs (The Circle) is touching me even deeper now.
I would like to know the reason as well why the lyrics didn't come with the album this time when they were supposed to do so? -
Thanks a lot for the link to that interview! Now I'm starting to get really upset with Mr. Bonamassa. I thought the waves were calming down and then he says something like this:
Quote"I think Glenn will come to . . . he needs to have a little reality check, and that’s fine. We all love him, and we’ll forgive him."
Who is "we all"? Maybe JB needs a reality check, speaking of himself in plural? And the generous "we'll forgive him" sounds like a priest giving his absolution...buaks! He's right that Glenn should've called him instead of going public but I really hate that arrogant "world star" attitude he's showing now
