    Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know you can now also find me on Facebook...you know, that other social site!

Here’s the link, be sure and sign-up to post on the Wall - something funky I hope!

    http://www.facebook.com/glennhughesonline

The shows in Minsk and Odessa were very emotional....there were a lot of fans gettin’ carried away, and there were a lot of tears out there....it was also refreshin’ to see everyone groovin’ to the music of the older songs. We extended a coupla’ songs with some space funk jammin’. To my surprise, everyone went along with me....I think my audience by now knows that the underlying theme of a GH show is about the groove.

They are mental about MK III and 1V in this part of the world , but they really freaked over "Don’t Let Me Bleed",
"You Got Soul", "Steppin’ On", and "Soul Mover".

Can’t wait to give ’em some off the F U N K later on this year when I return for a full Eastern European tour.

Gettin’ ready to hit the road in a couple weeks to throw down the songs off the new F U N K album.....it is the start of a new chapter for me.....it is the right time....I’m in London as I write to you....I’m Itchin’ to GO!!!!!!!

    Hi Everyone,

Just returned home to LA from London.

The Childline Show was a great event, and it was great to see some good friends, who I had not seen in a while. Each Artist sang a couple of songs, and I really enjoyed singin’ in London last Thursday evening.

As you all know, I’ve had this awful Flu strain 4 the past month, but, just in time, I was starting to feel better a few days ago, so, it’s back to the gym, and to regular routine....I thought I was never gonna shake it!

I am glad you are enjoying the samples of the new songs....like I have said, it’s really hard to talk about music, I just wanna play the songs now....it’s all I think about.....Its nice 2 move 4ward.

I will see the first edit of the video for Love Communion next week....it was fun, Filmin’ this song....so natural, and free.

You need to know that I have found great happiness since makin’ these new songs....a little wiser, more relaxed...but mighty determined to break new ground.

I was so very, very glad to see Melville last weekend...As you know, we had the B’day Party 4 him last Saturday, and I was able to spend some one on one time with him the following day, in a quieter enviroment. We are brothers...I love him dearly....Trapeze were the best damn trio out there....we were kids, and we outplayed ’em all.....Mel’s Music will live with us 4ever, and I will honor this.

I have 10 days @ home now....i need to prepare 4 the Road ahead.... I love this life...God has been Good to me.....here we go....

I read this interesting message 2day about Scotish shows. A coupla yrs ago, my manager approached DP and Whitesnake about my opening 4 them, and the answer was No.

I had no hard feelins' and have a great relationship with members of DP and our David....Zoom to the present, now that I am really pushin' my new songs, it no longer appeals to me to play all classics, opening up 4 bands that continually tour on the same set list, year in year out....I get so so much fulfillment by playing multiple songs from my new albums....it allows me to grow. And with F U N K about to be released soon, I can't wait to play these songs live...what a rush it will be. What is quite strange, and has my Manager and myself scratchin' our heads, is that I sell way more records in the UK than the turnout when I play live.

If I had my way, I would do 15-20 shows in my place of origin......maybe one day...but I will never do anything to jeopardise my artistic freedom.....havin' dipped my toes into the American Market last year, the water was welcoming, with sold out shows, with spine tingling receptions.....and you know what? Everything will, and is exactly the way it's supposed 2 be....with a European tour beckoning, and shows lined up in Australia! And New Zealand, + South America and a Far East Tour (my first outside of Japan) all on the horizon, and of course, more shows in the Land of the free, where it all started for me in Los Angeles in December 1970.

There are more fans ever year attendin' UK shows....newer fans, wantin' 2 hear 5olo material.....and the Headline slot @ Rock and Blues in July will raise the profile considerably....although I haven't lived in the UK since '73, I wanna, and will achieve my goal.

It is so gratifying to Headline Festivals and shows around the world playin' up to 25,000 fans a night, and I see great things startin' to happen for me in the UK.

As I write 2 you, I'm in bed recovering with a strain of the flu that has completely kicked my ass!

So, to everyone out there who will attend my shows this year, I promise you this, I am finally feelin' comfortabe in my own skin, realizin' who I am, and what God has planned 4 me....and that, like a flower, is 2 continually grow along spiritual lines....and to Give, a little more each time.

Now, all I want is to shake this Fever......

    Hi Everyone,

I am very happy to announce the world release of my new Album:

    "First Underground Nuclear Kitchen"......

It will be available the first week of May.

I am extremely proud of these songs. When I record songs, I never normally play them over and over, but this album is very addictive....I can't stop playin' it.....

It is a roots album, it is a true account of my musical heritage...it is an album, that is also fearless. Multi-dimensional...and remember, I never make the same album twice, I'm not one to bask in the past....it is an in the moment record....it's very emotional.

I worked some long hours in my home studio...I believe that the hard work has been worth waitin' 4......this is 4 all my fans, and beyond....this is a deep Musical Statement.....

I'll leave you all a FUNK voice message on my MySpace page shortly!

    God Bless you all....

    Hi Everyone,

    Wow, what a year!!!!

It is a time for me to give thanx to my Higher Power, for, one more time, givin' me the gifts to, make music, both on tour and in the studio.

It has also been a time of loss...the Passing of my very close friend Kevin Dubrow, has left a void in mine and Gabi's life. He was, is, part of our family. Words cannot describe how deeply saddened we both are.....Like Tommy Bolin, I will honor his name....I knew a very personable, intelligent, generous and hilarious KD.....may he rest in Peace.

Wanna thank you the many people who attended my Concerts this year, from LA to New York, from Moscow to London, from Rio to Kiev...thanx for growing with me.

[Glenn, Gabi and the Kids (Mac, Lily and Wolfie)]

Now.....I have just completed my new album......we are mixing @ the moment, and will be mastering in January......I'm always excited about recording new albums, the songs are personal to me, as they are constantly being shaped thru out the year.

Well here goes....I have never EVER had an experience like this B4.....this Music is changing my life, it feels like these songs have been livin' inside of me for quite sometime, waitin' for the right moment to be born.

These songs are a gift to myself, those that are closest to me are saying that this is my greatest work...simply because I was not afraid to show myself as an Artist...and, I really pushed myself as a songwriter, both musically and Lyrically to the MAX.

If you want a comparison, there isn't one, but it's in the "Play Me Out", "You are the Music", and "Feel"....."vibe". It will change the way I make music for the rest of my life...there is no doubt in my mind, that this work will enable me to become a better person, God wants us all to have our innermost hearts desires, and this is mine...... It will be released Worldwide in April....It is the greatest high I've ever had, better than Drugs, Food, Sport, and yes even better than Sex.

I got somethin' cookin' for ya.....

I am deeply saddened by the passing of one of my closest friends, Kevin Dubrow.

I had known Kevin since '83, when QR took off with their Multi platinum selling record.

He was a loud and Proud soulful Rock 'n Roller, who loved the British Invasion, Quoting Stevie Marriot and yours Truly as his Favorite singers.

I met him though Frankie Banali, Hughes/Thrall's drummer. Frankie and Kevin were more than Bandmates, they were brothers. I lost contact with him, until 2001 when I saw him in the audience at one of my shows in Las Vegas at the House of Blues. Couldn't miss him: There he was, groovin' away. All 6' 4 of him. After that show, he and I became very close....we would travel together, (we were planning on goin' to Maui in the New Year).

He stayed at my LA. Home when he was in town. He had his room, always prepared. I want you all to know that my relationship with him was a loving and nuturing one. He called me his big brother. He would call me sometimes 10-20 times a day, askin' a million questions, about life, music and food!

Kevin was a giver; he was always sendin' me gifts in person or via Fed Ex. I used to call him a silly boy; All I needed was his love, Material things aren't important to me, it's on the inside that counts.

Kevin called me on the 16th, Gabi took the call, I was at the movies with my friends. He wanted to know if we could pick him up at LAX on the 23rd, the night of a party that Gab was throwin' for me.

There's no way that KD would have missed this event, but we didn’t have his flight info. By Tues/Weds, I became very concerned and started callin' him on his hotline, and cell phone and texts and emails......no answer.....then Thanksgiving, I knew his MOM , Laura, was back on the East Coast...where is my boy? We thought it was very odd that he never showed.......all my friends were there, but not my lil' boy..... .....so, it's now the weekend, and I'm talkin' to Gab about catchin' a flight to Vegas.

By Sunday mornin', I couldn't take it anymore, and decided to contact Lark Williams about callin' a Paramedic to get into Kev's house. Well, the rest is history.

I will miss him more than anyone will know. He was a big part of my life. He was childlike, he was sweet, kind.....and he loved life. I will miss having dinner with him at the Palm in Beverly Hills. I will miss his big booming voice bellowing through my house. I will miss the corny jokes he had by the dozens. I will miss talking to him on a daily basis. I will miss writing songs with him for the next Quiet Riot album.

I will now begin work on my new record this evening. I will dedicate this one to you Kev.

I played you the songs sitting across from me on the couch a coupla months ago...And yeah....he was groovin'. You will never be forgotten.

    Your big brother,

    Hi Funksters...

Just wanted to give you all some info on the new, yet unrecorded album.

My songs, and songwriting, have become more important to me these past couple of years, and lookin' @ this made me realize that I need to be makin' music that is completely satisfyin' to me as an artist.

When I got clean and sober in '91, I hadn't written anything in a few years, so when I was freed from the human bondage, the floodgates opened... all thru the nineties I was blessed with the serenity to move 4ward, and grow as a human being, and live and breathe in God's grace... Since Soulmover, and M4TD, I have found a new belief in myself, not only as an Artist, but as a Man who is now come home.

I asked myself a question this Spring: "What is the right and appropriate Musical path 4 me?"... The answer was quite simple, I have to make music that is pure and natural... It felt like I was seeing myself 4 the first time, and 4 once I had zero fear of what was in front of me.

I had this feelin' early on in my career with "You Are The Music, We're Just The Band". I was just 20 years old when this album was recorded, but I had a strong vision, and I took my songs and arrangements to a new level in that period... For a young lad @ that age to add Alto Sax, and vibes, and pedal steel, was pretty risky, but it worked like a charm... With my new album, I feel it is time to love myself enough, and be brave enough.

There will be more Glenn original songs than ever B4... I have been in my Studio day and night, when I am home in LA... This will be the funkiest album I've made so far... Yeah, I got somethin' cookin'. A couple song titles 4 you:
"We Go To War" and "Imperfection".

I'll be updating my blog a little later in the year.

I love you, my Brothers and Sisters...
