My band was featured in Friday's entertainment section of the Mirror's Northern Irish edition and to my surprise I turned the page and lo and Behold there was Jason Bonham's smiling face staring at me. In short it was just a blurb on the album. Pretty Cool to be featured along side glenn

My band has made into the last 12! Even if we don't get any further it has been an honour to be mentioned in the same breath as Jimi, and we have gained major publicity for this at home.

It's sad, but some people are only meant to blaze a short but brilliant trail. How do you think hendrix's music would have progressed and evolved
-
It's Coverdale's band. It's kind of sad sometimes the way people associate the singer with being the voice of the band or the embodiment of 'the band'. Take 1987 that album wouldn't have amounted to much without john sykes, then blammo he gets dumped.

What are your favourite Glenn Basses, aesthetically. I mean what bass suited Glenn the most in your opinions?
-
was it marco mendoza before or uriah duffy?

I could never understand that about coverdale, I love him but the dudes a baritone, granted a baritone with a nice upward extension, but he was pushing his voice into places it shouldn't have went, something was going to give.

I would have killed for the Belfast and Dublin support slots! Any information on the artist that's supporting?

In the book Coverdale isvery fussy and caters for Guy Pratt's every whim much like the stereotype of a Jewish Mother, he even goes so far as to lend him a pair of silk pyjama's and a robe.
-
I remember reading his Mother was Catholic and his Father was Protestant, and this was a bone of some contension.
There's a great bit in the book, where a young Guy Pratt goes to a punk gig, where he meets a young punk who has travelled down from the North of England. The fashion of the time was to rename yourself in a punk fashion "Johnny Rotten & Sid Vicious" and the young punk had done so accordingly, he then asks Guy what's his name? 'Guy Pratt' to which the young punk replies "that's brilliant how did you come up with that" haha -
I picked up the hard copy before I head on holiday about two years ago. The Coverdale Page part only makes up a chapter, but it's a fantastic read.

Hey Everybody my band 'The Dead Presidents' have made it past thousands of entries to the final 50, in a competition to be featured on an upcoming Jimi Hendrix album. If you have the time I would appreciate it if you could do me a huge favour by visiting http://www.myspace.com/jimispeaks and listen to the song 'Losing My Edge' it's the first song on the player, we've got 48 hours to get as many comments and listens as possible.
Cheers Matt -
I think people like what they know, in the words of Garth "we fear change". in regards classic radio, people listen to it to remind them of the halcyon days, when they were young and skinny, with a full head of hair, it's nostalgia. To alot of people the fact that said artists are making new music is ephemeral.
I was watching an interview with the drummer of roots ,Quest love, and he spoke at length on getting a track picked up by radio, you grease their palms, or you tour and tour and tour until people take notice.I think artists of a certain vintage don't have the money or the strength to do either -
What Band is he using at the moment?
-
oh totally, I'm 21 and every older singer I seek guidance from stresses vocal longevity. I do about an hour a day of scales and breathing and all that jazz, and it can be a bit of a bummer, but I'd rather sound like glenn than say, gillan or coverdale or plant these days.

I'm not gonna lie there's not many who could pull off the crushed velvet waistcoat

I don't know if they would be to everyone's taste, but their two records have been on constant rotation on my ipod. They blend groove, soul, jazz and rock, as well as something a bit different seamlessly.
if anybody is familiar with the soprano's their song scratch your name was featured in the last episode -
glenn has a library of tones to choose from, so it's easy on the palette. in the same token, any artist can get a bit boring, if it seems they're just ticking boxes.
When I heard 'wasted again', I couldn't tell it was Glenn singing, at least until the pre chorus -
Vinicus, I couldn't agree more, if you look at people treading the boards in the top 40, all their stuff sounds exactly the same, as if it's done to chemical equation. There's a difference between having a sound, and all your songs sounding the same.

Does anybody think that Mk3 and Mk4 output gets criminally overlooked compared to the Mk 2 stuff?
