Great time had at the show. really refreshing live rock 'n' roll from a band of great players. Pick up BCC2 at the merch stand and my luck did change last night meeting Glenn after the show & got the CD autographed. Joe B. also signed and took pix with everyone waiting outside!

tony g ~ i did the same here in Sayreville, NJ and heard nothing back either. Tried to meet Glenn a few years ago at the John varvatos show in NYC but missed him. A couple of weekends ago a NJ Rock radio staion WDHA was giving away tix + passes to the sound check at the Starland I tried and tried all weekend with both my wife and daughter assingting and came up with nothing too. Hopefully my luck tonight will be better...

Hi, I'm from central NJ and am thinking of going out to the Sands Riverplace for the Yes/ASIA concert next Sunday (8/2). Just wanted to know if anyone has been there and would share comments on the venue regarding setup, parking, ease of getting in and out of etc.
    Thanx,-Pete.

P.S. Don't forget Glenn's ASIA connection: Background vocals on 'Tears', vocals on Geoff Downes VOV Humana and The Works Tapes too!

I didn't get to the Highline but was at the Varvatos concert and can describe it with one word AMAZING! First time I've gotten to see Glenn and it was one of the best concerts I have been to for any price. It was energetic and fresh the band was fantastic (I especially enjoyed Steve Stephens drumming). I'm a lover of all things Purple even Blackmore's Night. It took me almost ten years to finally check them out and found that performance also very entertaining. The last time I saw Purple on the neverending Rapture tour in NY at Radio City I hate to say was somewhat boring. While it was good it was the same old, same old seemingly going thru the motions but Glenn really rocked and funked out last night the boy unlike many of his contemporary '20 somethings' as he reffered to himself still has a great set of pipes. Plus I really like the mix of styles on his recent albums.

Oh and he says he's coming back next year! WOO HOO!!!

    mgns,

My brother was coming with me and now has bailed.
Don't know if you would be able to use his e-mail but I could bring it with me and meet you outside before.
From what I understand they just put your name on a list.

Thanx for the welcome 'purplemusic' and the info regarding the forum. I have been a member of a Corvette Forum for about 7 years and am familiar with how forums work and that's where I started using the Hwy St*r moniker. Didn't know this one existed until I hit the link from Glenn's site about the 'no meet n greet' for the NY show. I've been a fan of all things purple since early 70's but have never seen Glenn perform and am looking forward to what I hope will be a really memorable evening tonight at Varvatos event.

Thanx Capt for the response and the ticket offer but I think I'll be going tomorrow night. Just didn't want to skip tonight and find out tomorrow that it's an 'appearance' but not a concert and have missedan opportunity to see/hear Glenn & band in action.

PS. My brother was going with me tomorrow and has bailed so if you're looking to go tomorrow too let me know.

PS2. Capt give a review if you will of Highline show too.

Hi, I'm new to this forum but not new to being a Glenn Hughes fan. I've been a fan since 'BURN' and never looked back, well not exactly I did get into Trapeze too! I got a an 'invitation' to the Sunday night event at John Varvatos in NYC but I'm not exactly sure what I got an invitation to. I was planning on going to the Highline Ballroom show but saw the listing for the 29th in NYC the other day and sent a e-mail and got a response that I'm 'on the list'. I have never seen Glenn in concert and I can only make it to one or the other. I obviously know that Saturday night is a concert but what is Sunday supposed to be? Is Glenn and band doing a full set concert at the store or is he just making an appearance at some kind of event? Would really like the opportunity to meet one of my favorite music stars and with the curfew I don't think that could happen on Saturday. Trying to call the store for more info but didn't really get anywhere....

    Thanx, -Pete.
