I still have not purchased Glenn's autobiography as I am actually more interested of reading about his musical output and career (business, performance, and songwriting) rather than the tabloid aspects of his past. Such a book mentioned in this post would be most welcomed.

Never heard Back Street Love before and wonder if the interviewer mistaken Glenn's voice with that of Mel Galley which explains the reason for the inclusion of the song? At first I thought Glenn was singing along with Mel which goes to show how unfamiliar I am with Trapeze's recordings.

Placed an order yesterday for the CD which should arrive in mid December. I remember seeing an ad for the first Phenomena album in 1985 and surprised to see Hughes name listed amongst the musicians. I was into Deep Purple since early 1984 and hungry to know whether Hughes was still active in the music scene. Naturally this was pre-internet era so I had no way of getting any news since mainstream media was useless for such details. Amazing to then see Gary Moore's RUN FOR COVER released and then Iommi/Sabbath's SEVENTH STAR released the following year as finally some new recordings were available with the man himself.

It's a Bio-Pic.

Tommy Bolin Archives on Facebook posted this photo stating:
QuoteWe have begun the process....
I have no idea if this will be a documentary or a bio-pic at the moment.

I guess this thread is relevant regarding early H/T gigs with opening acts such as RATT. I just came across a video interview with Yngwie Malmsteen where he states his first live gig ever in the USA was as a member of STEELER opening for HUGHES THRALL.
-
No - audio recording only. Don't know if this particular gig was recorded by them - but they did tape most all of their shows at that venue, so it might be in the vaults somewhere!
Has there been any legitimate investigative work to confirm the Trapeze April/May 1971 gigs were indeed recorded (video/audio) and residing in the vaults?

Love it! I was hoping to see GH play a bass solo with his mouth
-
A shame he said he won't release any solo material for awhile but I suggest the long awaited From the Archives Volume 2 – Incense & Peaches should be produced to sate the appetites of us music lovers.

Read this on Planet Rock but I couldn't listen live the past few minutes.
QuoteThe new track called 'Righteous Days' is an exciting new release ahead of David Lowy, Doug Aldrich, Deen Castronovo and Glenn Hughes' return to the studio at the end of the year to complete their next album.

Glenn Hughes plays bass with Chad Smith on drums for Soren Anderson's BIRD FEEDER but the rhythm section doesn't appear in the video. I hear a hint of a Steve Vai guitar tone and a Joe Satriani compositional influence on the track. At the moment I don't know if Hughes plays on any other tracks on the album Guilty Pleasures.
Anderson has another video CITY OF ANGELS without Hughes/Smith which reminds me of Satriani's SUMMER SONG.

I'm surprised there are no posts about this report of Hughes joining The Dead Daisies... if true.

Couldn't listen so hopefully it will be available here if someone recorded the interview.

First time over the decades I heard that it was a member or members of a rival casino group who shot the flare gun into the ceiling. Good to finally know the motivation behind this famous story.

The Japanese release of the band's debut album will be on April 30th and will include an additional song, "Breathe (Acoustic)"
I will get the Japanese edition as "Solo" is also included. Always thought there would be a Japanese CD with an extra bonus bonus

To fill in the void perhaps a FROM THE ARCHIVES VOLUME 2 - INCENSE AND PEACHES should be considered.

I'm always amused when Glenn does an interview from his home because there is usually a chance to hear his "furs" making a racket in the background.

Too bad Cosmic Spell, in addition the site is now gone, is on hold but understandable with all the other projects from this very talented singer.
