Ray Gomez biography

  • And here is the excellent biography of Ray Gomez (up untill 1980).

It looks like a Who's Who in European an American Rock history.

He'd better change his name to Ray Gump..anyone who has seen the movie Forrester Gump will understand.

You'll see that there is a definite Tommy Bolin link as he worked with Jimmy Haslip too and belonged to the 70's New York "fusion clique"

Around the Eighties the public lost sight of Ray Gomez (personal problems??) but since the mid-eighties he recorded a lot of session work up untill now.

  • Hi there!

A couple of years ago I bought a couple of Joachim Kuhn LPs on the Atlantic Label. They were recommended by a friend of mine. I noticed that Ray Gomez played guitar on some of the tracks (the rest of the guitaring is done by Kuhn on a Roland Jupiter 4 Synth, really), and I also noticed a connection to Gary Moore's short-lived G-Force Band through Tony Newton, who played bass on those LPs. So there's another Glenn connection.

Thanks for the song from USA, Ad - didn't know this LP.
    Best, Chris
