GLENN HUGHES Performs CLASSIC DEEP PURPLE LIVE + October 2018 UK Tour
-
-
GLENN HUGHES, the former bassist and singer of Deep Purple, known to millions as the 'Voice of Rock', Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, and the current front man for rock super group Black Country Communion, is pleased to announce that he will be performing Deep Purple only material with his "GLENN HUGHES PERFORMS CLASSIC DEEP PURPLE LIVE" nationwide UK tour in October 2018.
PLANET ROCK will launch a 48-hour UK ticket pre-sale on Wednesday 21st February from www.planetrock.com - UK tickets will then go on general sale on Friday 23rd February from the 24 HR ticket hotline 08444 780 898 or www.thegigcartel.com
Hughes says:QuoteI'm excited to be touring the Classic Deep Purple Live in the UK this October. I first toured Classic Deep Purple Live in Australia and New Zealand last year and it went down like a storm. We're also touring the show throughout South America in April, and Festivals throughout the Summer. By the time we tour the UK in October, we'll be on fire.
Continues Glenn:QuoteA few years back, I cut a barnstorming version of Highway Star for the Machine Head anniversary tribute album with my good friends Steve Vai and Chad Smith. I'm not playing anything on the forthcoming tour that I didn’t either play live or record in the studio with Purple.
I can still sing the songs, in some ways even better than I did in the 70's. I can still perform them with the same energy that was on the stage back then, too. I feel that the time is right. It's fun to get back into character of my days with Purple. I'm looking back at my life and I want to remember the good stuff. I'm incredibly excited to perform these songs, as they helped define the genre. I can assure you, the new show is going to blow your mind.
As well as Glenn on lead vocals and bass guitar, the touring band also features Soren Anderson (guitar), Jesper Bo Hansen (keyboards) and new drummer for the project Fernando Escobedo (drums).
Tickets for the UK shows will go on sale of Friday, February 23, via THE GIG CARTEL - www.thegigcartel.com

Very excited to hear about these shows.
Will definitely be at the London show - my first GH gig! -
Is the set list going to vary? Staples like Burn,Stormbringer,Gettin' Tighter,Mistreated and YKOMovin' are to be expected.I would like to see 'Dealer' as Glenn might have sung it in 75/76 and stab at a 'Teaser' track.
-
The set will stick closely with only those songs that Glenn participated in with MKIII/IV ( including those famous MKII hits
), whether live or studio. It won't disappoint

Saw Glenn perform in Sydney and Melbourne. Did the Meet and Greet at both.
Just changing our holiday plans so that we arrive a few days earlier so that we can attend the London show. Should be amazing. My advice to Glenn - Stay hydrated. And please play Owed to G, for two reasons - 1/. it fits like a glove to This Time Around 2/. My name is Graeme - so Owed to G(raeme). -
Does anyone know when they are going to announce the meet and greet info for the uk dates ?
thanks -
The show, scheduled for Friday, October 12th, at O2 ABC, Glasgow has moved to O2 Academy, Glasgow on the same date due to a fire at The Glasgow School of Art. All original tickets will remain valid.

In all of this - does anyone know if an effort has been made to film/record or otherwise document this once-in-a-lifetime tour?
Would love to know if a live CD and/or Blu-Ray will be in the offing down the pipe...
Fingers crossed! -

Several people have mentioned it already, it's on top of my wish list, too.
Btw, why do you think this is a once-in-a-lifetime tour? Have I missed something, has Glenn mentioned somewhere he is ready to retire?
With Glenn you never knowJust wait till Purple has finally retired...
Depending on the success, this might not be the only Classic Purple Tour. -
Hi,
I'd like him to go around the Globe once, twice or a couple of times with BCC
