This was no doubt taken from one of the 'big screens' above the stage so all the 'people in the faraway cheap seats' could see what the 'big spenders' were seeing... I know a 'bootlegger' who would do that through the whole concert so he could sell 'almost pro-shot' shows...

Chuck, I still have some cassettes from concerts of the 80ies which were secretly recorded with a dictaphone...

Yvonne, I have some excellent 'swamp land' for sale too! LOL ...but I'm serious about the 'bootlegger' videotaping the 'pro shot' off the big screen at the concert... I've bought one of his videos and it looks just as good as what you're seeing with the Deep Purple at the Capitol Center footage.... the Capitol Center was right down the road from me (30-40 minutes away)... but alas it's now gone ...just a footnote in history...

This is great! This is one week before they played Radio City Music Hall in NYC. I was just introduced to a recording of the second of two shows up there. It appears the first night was NOT recorded, but I would welcome anybody who'd like to disprove this!

Gotta' say that that this is pretty good footage, especially from a leg of the tour that doesn't seem to have been particularly well-documented either.

Wonder if there is more from this performance out there somewhere...

Exceptional good. Great song by the Purps. In this longer version Ian Paice shows his amazing drumtechnique, very funky. This song Homeward Strut is from Tommy Bolin’s album Teaser and fits Deep Purple MK IV very well.

Last weekend I’ve seen Ian Paice for the fourth time this year (with Purpendicular this time) and he is still amazing good and still has that groove

Is Anders still here? I'm sure he knows every recorded/filmed MK IV clip there is.
