Glenn recently spoke with Lisa Martineau of NewHampshire.com talkin' all things USA Solo Tour, New Album, Black Country Communion and more
We'll start in 1970 and work our way up. It will be a combination of all of the things I have done from solo to Deep Purple to Hughes/Thrall to Black Country Communion. On my first tour I think it's important to play for the fans that have been waiting to hear these songs. I just think it's really important.
Yes, I finished up my new album about 6 weeks ago in Copenhagen. Chad Smith from the Chili Peppers came in and played some tracks with me. It's my first solo album in 8 years. So when I come back out in the Spring, I'll be playing some new tracks too. I'm excited about that. Everybody needs to know that this is absolutely a return to rock music as a solo artist for me. As you know, my work is very varied. Groovy, funky, soulful, although the genre has always been rock. But this album is probably THE heaviest record I've done in at least 25 years.
We're writing and in January we'll go in-studio between the 3rd and the 11th of January, 2017 and we'll have an album done. The album will be out next May. Other than that what I won't do, or can't do, is say when the Black Country Communion shows will be, because I just don't know. My schedule is nuts next year and as you know, Joe's schedule is always crazy. But I think it's in our hearts to do some shows. I don't know how many we'll do. Hopefully we will play some shows in America. More will be revealed as we trudge down the road.
