Rock Candy - Trapeze reloaded
-
-
I picked 'Hotwire' and the 'Stars' Trapeze album up about 3 years ago
on one disc.I think it was out on 'Wounded Bird' label?
'Medusa' got the treatment a while back so it would be wonderfull if
'You Are The Music' got reissued and remastered.
I guess the unmixed master tapes are missing? -
Received the two remastered CD
Never heard those records like that - very good job -

I guess the unmixed master tapes are missing? You Are The Music got the 'reissue-treatment' in 2003 by Lemon Recordings (a division of Cherry Red Records) in the UK... nice foldout booklet with discography and liner notes. Mel stated years back in Goldmine magazine that the 'master tapes' for the Threshold albums were long lost
-
Yes, the masters for the early albums are lost/destroyed.
However, the demos for Hot Wire are in the possession of Tony Perry and every time i see him i tell him to get them released. It's a shame they couldn't be added to the Rock Candy reissue as a proper special edition. Mel always told me he preferred the alternate versions to what ended up being released.
I have a 4 demo tracks from Hot Wire sessions that even Tony didn't remember, where there are extra keyboards and differences in the guitar work, vocals etc. There is also an unreleased track called "It's Not Easy". -
Wolfy, I'm certain you are probably aware of this....the single version of "On The Sunnyside Of The Street" from the second Warner Brothers album is a completely 'different' take from the album track....isn't it?
-
actually i dont have the single version. Maybe Chip can shed light on this?
Mel said they did Sunny Side for a bit of a laugh and a warm up and it ended up getting put on the album! -
Right!! I should pose this question to the Trapezemeister...
-
I've not bought these reissues but I'm told that on the cd booklet it mentions the Trapeze Myspace page! I don't think anyone still uses WasteofSpace these days and not had a friend request or song played for a couple of years since Facebook took over the world.
Maybe I should start a FB page for Trapeze? -
