California Breed: more touring or new album 2015?

    For us the fans Glenn is a big rockstar and the most gifted muscian ever. But i'm afraid there is no big audience for Glenn without famous friends to work with. I saw Glenn so many times live and Always in small clubs with a poor turn out (Holland, belgium, germany). If Glenn made the choice to make only real rock music like he's doing now 2 decades ago he would be massive at this moment. His music was a bit to diverse to build a bigger fanbase then he has at this moment. Btw... i'm shure if the CB tour would be a selling suc6 that they would continue even without Jason.

    California Breed did it pretty good in a lot of charts in UK and Europe. It is a amazing good album. After Jason left it seemed that there was less interest in the band in Europe. They were originally booked in venues with a capacity around 1500-2000. After Jason left they changed some venues to smaller clubs, capacity 900. I can understand it, because CB was a band with two famous names in hardrock: Hughes and Bonham jr. For a lot of fans it was a huge disappointment when Jason left. Though Joey Castillo, drum-monster, did a fantastic job on the live shows. I've been to the show in Koln and it was one of the best shows in the last years, I've seen :thumbup:

    Now I'm ready for a new interesting and adventurous chapter in Glenn Hughes music. Glenn, I wish you lot's of luck and above all a good health.

    I'd just woke up and was caught off guard so I didn't have a chance to talk much with Glenn. I'd like to see more melodic Hughes Thrall style vocals also seen on the solo albums such as TWII and Songs in the Key of Rock, which had a good mix of full throttle and melodic vocals. I'm with Daniel. Whatever Glenn does it's always different so bring it on Glenn!

    I think Glenn did the best he could with a bad situation. The album was out there, and he had to knuckle down and tour it, which he did, admirably. He honoured commitments, and certainly gave Andrew Watt his window to the world. It's not his greatest album, but it was a brave one, and it's got some killers on it, including 'All fall down' which I consider to be one of the greatest songs he's ever written. Nothing is wasted here, this is yet another colour in Glenn's kaleidoscopic career. Would that other artists were so eclectic and unpredictable!

    I agree Kev. It's not my favourite style but All Falls Down is a classic. I like Strong too. I'd like a more Soul Mover style album mixed with HTP style. Soul Mover was the perfect mix of styles, the rock with the funk, soul, pop elements with great songs and great performances.

    Given that a major raison d'être behind California Breed's genesis was for Glenn and Jason to finally have a band that they could tour together, I think Bonham's departure pretty much killed the whole thing; in essence the band was more or less DOA by the opening day of their tour.

    They bravely made a go of it with Joey Castillo but, when even he couldn't commit to all of the band's gigs, (the band's drum tech played in his stead), things became somewhat farcical.

    Like some others here, I had a hard time coming to terms with the album at first, but I really came to like it, and I have to say that the material really shone when played live - irrespective of who was behind the kit.

    Seeing the effort Glenn and Andrew put into bringing the songs to life onstage, I found myself hoping that they might find a viable way forward, but in talking to Glenn I know that even now "new things are in the pipe", so 2015 will surely bear new fruit for us all to enjoy.

    In the meantime, California Breed joins a proud collection of work in Glenn's catalog as a whole, taking a deserved place alongside other notable short term endeavors like Hughes/Thrall, Face the Truth and the albums that Glenn recorded with Tony Iommi.

    Goodbye CB, hello to the future...

    saw glenn mention this on facebook but since my computer is down i've had a hard time responding - unless jason had a financial problem - which would be the only valid excuse i can think of - to make and album and then watch tickets be sold and then drop out - that's coldblooded

    Btw, Joey Castillo has joined the band of one Scott Weiland.

    I liked Andrews shred-lite guitar work. I have recently revisited the album and the energy is to be admired along with some great material there-in. Jason's playing was a vital ingredient. Glenn's raw vocals are unlike anything he has recorded to my ears.
