I DID wonder if anybody else would remember this historic date!
The Citizens Business Bank Arena, which has been built on the former Ontario Motor Speedway, display large-scale press clippings of the event in the arena (see bottom of the page)

Been thinking about the show and venue for several days and we dedicated SOTW and an Eagles song to the event last night at our show. Found some cool stuff about it last few days, and was curious exactly where the stage was.

From looking at the video and overlay maps from the site above the stage was right about at the northwest corner of duesenberg and concours st
near 3546 Concours St, Ontario, CA 91764

In the empty field nearby in the dirt there is still the faint outline of turn 3 -
Thanks for these links John. Being the map freak that i am (part of my job) it was cool to see the overlay of then and now. You are right the stage was located where N. Duesenberg Dr. and Concours intersect

Thanks Trapezoid. That took awhile, I really enjoy getting stuck in research projects like that. Will hopefully get to stop by there in the near future.

Still wasn't satisfied... Now I've got it. Look at this aerial pic

The stage was where the empty field on the east corner of duesenberg and concours is , just to the west - or left of that massive car lot and south of those apt buildings. It's pretty cool, one of the last bits not paved over is the spot. -
Wow, John PI! You must have seen a lot of Rockford and Magnum...

When I click that Flickr link John I get a shot of a parachute jump over the 1974 site?
-
Yes that is correct. And when you compare that pic with the speedway laid out over the current map, you can see the stage was right where the field is.
-
This concert was proof that live versions are better than studio versions: Mistreated, Burn, You Fool No One...not a bad performance.
