California Breed - Pre-Order, Artwork & Tracklist Revealed

  • Hi David, I had this album on my preorder list and got a mail of amazon.de two days ago that preorders can be made now. But then I was surprised that I would have to pay 21,72 € (which is 30,13 $) for an imported DeLuxe version (and I definitely want the DeLuxe version).
Do you know if there will be a European release with a more reasonable price? I think this album will deserve it and a European version with a bonus track would be really cool!

It's being released by Frontiers in Europe, so it'll be set at European prices. Looks like that one you see is an 'Import'... which would account for the higher price. Just a little patience is required I guess ;)

No problem, until then I will listen to the Japanese edition...can't wait! :bouncer:

  • Hi People,
this is what I do...as some might know we have this Official DPAS PSOF in Finland and we have also very active Deep Purple facebook group.
So what I'm going to suggest people to do is: Buy CaliBreed's album from your local CD stores and make sure that that shop's sales are reported to the officials that run your country's official music charts.
By this way we kept Deep Purple's Now What?! after it's release in Finnish charts for 9 weeks, well 10 but tenth was just before X-mas when I was buying it for friends...:)
The longer the album stays there the better place it gets in super markets etc...it gets also radio play, which still is important. Especially in a small country like Finland.

aijoo. new iTunes single "Sweet Tea" is awesome - they only song since Soul Mover that I've played non-stop for like 20 times...:)

  • Got the ITunes download "Sweet Tea" no real surprise in sound, a cross between Soul Mover and AW's Chameleon. Very organic and live.

I would say that AW's guitar playing is very sympathetic to the song rather than wanting to fit in 50 notes a second !!! Its all about the grove and it certainly has a great groove. This is far better than having some "guitar hero antics" that have become boring and so outdated now. Great choice by Glenn and Jason to go with Andrew cant wait to hear more! :claphands

...here's a link to the album on the German iTunes store - as you can see, pricing is more in line with what you were expecting, since it's not an Import! You should also see it at that level, at your local Amazon and other outlets very soon!

  • It doesn't show up on Amazon UK yet but its on Play.com as a download album for £7.99 with a release date of 16th May.

i've listened to the 1m30s preview on itunes and like the sound of Sweet Tea but why a different single release here than the USA?

  • ...an excellent early review of the self-titled album

    Quote

California Breed is a fantastic album by a fantastic band. It's new breed, if you will - it doesn't sound like Deep Purple, Black Country Communion, or anything that preceded it. Hughes and Bonham have done some of their best work yet, and the avenue of guitar heroes has a new kid on the block in Andrew Watt.

  • The Japanese release of the band's debut album will be on April 30th and will include an additional song, "Breathe (Acoustic)"

I will get the Japanese edition as "Solo" is also included. Always thought there would be a Japanese CD with an extra bonus bonus ;)

  • Tony Conleys review of CB is eerily the exact same review he gave to BCC Afterglow.

If I recall, he alluded to both Aerosmith and Led Zep comparisons on both records and stated that both records were the best that Glenn Hughes have performed on.

    Strange.

  • ...if you pre-ordered the album on iTunes, you should now have another song awaiting download ~ Midnight Oil :cool1:

It is kinda obvious single... (but for Finnish radio it should have better chorus - IM- not always so -HO) ...Chemical Rain and Spit You Out are the highlights of the album - for me - at the moment.
