DP - Now What?! - Reviewed

  • Here's what Classic Rock have to say in the new issue (June 2013).

Very positive review giving it 8/10.

Also the track Hell To Pay (Radio Edit) is the first track on the free cd and an "exclusive" 9 page interview with each member of the band.

Ian Gillan is on the front cover of the ma too!

  • No, this is just the regular issue that i get as a subscriber.

As well as the "24 Carat Gold" free cd it also came with the new album from The Mercy House on cd which includes 2 videos. Not watched or listened to that yet though.

    :ghcp: "It's in my blood"

  • Ian Gillan describes the new album as a 'sophisticated record' in this interview with the Daily Mail:

I finally was able to buy Now What?! yesterday via MP3 download - the USA release doesn't occur till May 14th. I am quite impressed! There are obvious choice favorites that jump out of the album, but, I need to take the time and enjoy multiple listens before proclaiming my favorite ! I'll like to get the Deluxe version with the 2nd disk DVD, just to see the Perfect Strangers Live recording. I'm assuming it's a video :clapper:

  • Loving this album, been playing it a hell of a lot! Yes Ian's voice is limited these days, but this is a great album, with Don and Steve putting on a show!

Same here. Got it for a trip to Vegas. I was going to download it from a free site ( I m buying the Cd) but its not worth the risk of a virus. Purple are my favorite band and can have an extra ten bucks from me.

  • Paice and Gillan talk about the new album, producing in Nashville and the loudest band in the world.
Seems there's a second part to come

  • As a touring band, Deep Purple appears to have quite a few 'gaps' in their 2013 Tour.
I'm looking forward to the addition of other dates and assume we should see them in the USA (in 2014 ?)

So there are not many gaps left for the hardest working band in the world!

Every song from Now What?! has the element for great live jamming !

Blue, I'm afraid you'll have to wait a bit till Purple goes on tour again on your side of the pond:

    Quote

Ray Shasho: Ian thank you for being on the call today. Deep Purple has plenty of international dates coming up are there any U.S. dates in the near future?

Ian Gillan: “I’m not sure; I haven’t seen any American dates either (All laughing). We’re flat out until Christmas. I know we’re in all kinds of places … Morocco, Iceland, all over Europe, Russia and the Eastern European countries right through to the UK, then in Japan and South America, but I don’t see any American dates.”

Here's the latest interview with Big Ian

  • I'm really enjoying the new CD a lot :bouncer:

I saw DP in Romania last month and they were still very tight. Gillan has lot some range but still sang great :claphands
