  • Thanks a lot, Yvonne! Reading the interview in the "Berliner Abendblatt" just let my jaw drop:

Q: Can you tell us your activities for the coming year?
A: The main focus will be on Black Country Communion. We will be on the road live extensively. But you shouldn't forget that 2013 the Deep Purple album "Burn" is "celebrating" its 40th birthday. For this anniversary there will be a surprise.

This interview was published September 29, 2012. I wonder when it was held? BCC was supposed to be on the road live extensively in 2013???
I think I stop reading these interviews. They are getting me very upset...:(

  • This is a HUGE part of the problem. These magazine interviews are done a while before they are published. So we had Joe saying hey lets chill on this a bit then every other day a new interview came out with more frustration in it. But it wasn't in real time. Its just that this frustration was a part of those interviews so J&R keep hearing, reading these things on almost a daily basis and they snapped.

I so get the frustration on Glenn's part. I feel it too. He knows what they have their hands on here and he sees it slipping away. I'm really glad Jason came out essentially saying the same thing. I found it hard to believe that Glenn was the only one feeling this way.

Hey Joe is great player/musician and seems to be a decent guy too. Its a shame if they don't at least mend fences. He had some real nice things to say about Glenn in the last couple days on his forum. Of course the ultimate would be for all of them to find a way to make it all work. Solo and BCC at least here and there. Time will tell. Now its about Afterglow!!

According to Glenn's tweets it was September 3, Heidi.

And many thanks to David for scanning the interview! :clapper:

  • Thank you, Forever Young and lioness. What's getting me so frustrated are two things. On one side at the time of this interview Glenn knew that BCC wouldn't be able to tour extensivelyin 2013. Joe's tour plans were already published in the net, visible for anyone. So why not saying "I hope we will perform this great album live in 2013 but I can't tell any details yet." or anything like that?

And then it is of course disappointing me more and more seeing this great band going down the bin. Yes, of course, if Joe can't tour or doesn't want to tour with BCC, a replacement could be a solution for being able to perform these great songs live in the future. But the more I think about it the more I don't like this idea. It was the fantastic fusion of exactly these four guys plus the topping of Kevin Shirley that brought out the great sound of BCC. If any of them would be replaced I'm afraid it wouldn't be the same anymore. I saw Glenn and Joe live performing songs of BCC with their solo bands. I loved it but it just wasn't BCC and I really want this band to continue! I want to see them live again!!!

I really hope that "Afterglow" will be such a huge commercial success that they will find a way of talking to each other again and maybe somehow a solution for this dilemma will be found as well.
    Hope springs eternal...

Joe doesn't want to tour so there will be no tour,he prefers to tour with his solo band.
Playing huge halls and building it up for his own. Glenn should do the same,a lot of peeps out there know GH is rockin again. He has a great solo band can make great music so what more does he need.
The best(rock) singer on earth doesn't need a guy like JB,that should be proud that GH wants him on stage ;)
