BCC - This Is The End... maybe... YES!

  • I think this all harks back to points i've made before. What were the band members expectations of each others commitments to the band from the get go...

If Joe, [i mean lets face it, we know it's about Joe and his commitment or lack of commitment to touring] has always said he's got a busy schedule and is unavailable to tour, then i dont think he should be blamed...

I'll be disappointed for Glenn, because he obviously has been enjoying the critical success its brought him....

Aspects of this situation remind me of a saying that goes something like "Never make a deal with someone who has nothing to lose." Sounds like some of the bandmembers felt they had nothing to lose by not proceeding with BCC. That's why in poker everyone antes the same amount...a bit harder to do with careers.

  • Glenn interviewed last night in Hollywood, California, USA talkin' all things
Ronnie James Dio, Black Country Communion, Deep Purple and more :cool1:

    ...you tell 'em G :bouncer2:

  • Ha,ha ..........love it when Gabi comes up to 'encourage' the interview to end :)
Glenn certainly is/has always been the Voice of Rock & now the (sole, positive) 'Voice of Black Country Communion' .
Do hope Glenn manages to enjoy some of his evenings out without being constantly bombarded with media trying to get a quote that can be misconstrued

    Cheers,
    Ben !!

It's got to be wearing constantly having to be on your guard about this sort of thing. ( even for Joe B, I suppose) - but I thought Glenn said it all, when he said how much he loved the band and was passionate about it, and of course it will frustrate him when such a marvellous album (and it's growing on me more and more each day - shoulda been called 'afterGROW!) is just 'out there' with no band gigging its superb collection of songs. Ah well, we never got three albums out of Blind Faith did we?

  • Very nice interview! I like the way Glenn seems to be able to talk a bit more relaxed again. The last interviews he was hardly smiling and didn't seem to feel very comfortable. I thought he looked hurt and very fragile. Now he's joking again and enjoying life...good! :)

And yes, I like that part where Gabi walks up as well :D
But who's that long haired guy who walks up before and then turns back again. Funny bugger...:p

  • I like this album and i would like to see BCC on stage again.

If Joe Bonamassa doesn't want to, he should do his blues-projects, and BCC may perform all this great songs with another guitar player, there are a lot of inspired guitar players in the world, but there is only one Glenn Hughes.

I think J. B. plays guitar in a virtuoso manner and his playing is inspired too, but if he has got no time to play with BCC, not at least a small numer of concerts in 2013, another guitarist should take his place.

It saddens me, that he discredits the album "Afterglow" in an interview.

  • Hopefully, this will not be the end of BCC. This is a great new band in a time when great bands are rare. I saw them at the Starland Ballroom and they were amazing live. If they do decide to call it quits though, I wouldn't mind seeing Glenn get back together with Joe Lynn Turner. HTP was a great band and the Live in Tokyo CD was off the charts!

  • ...but I think it was because Glenn didn't really see himself as an 80's style artist, whereas JLT clearly is. No shame in that, just horses for courses. Still, the work they did together on those 4 albums was great.
(The irony of course is that perhaps one of the greatest rock albums of the 80's was Hughes/Thrall!!)
