  • A great night. Hot  sweaty and loud - just like rock n roll is supposed to be! :D

Have to say that by the 3rd song that was enough of Fish for me  and we headed to the separate bar & lounge downstairs and watched the England match. Where we met a bunch on GHPG crazies who also thought the same! Nice to see & chat to Dani, Marie & Martin, Lee, Mike & Penny and also Drew Thompson too.

Then as Fish finished and people piled out to the bar we headed back in and got a reasonable spot near the front. It's good to report that the place was just as packed for when Glenn came on half an hour later and didn't seem like many Fishheads (as they are officially known) had left.

Glenn as usual was full of energy and passion with The Voice on top notch form. When he did the extra song from London i was worried he'd drop something but thankfully not. While i loved all the songs for me the highlight was actually Cold. Just stunning and brought back memories of the acoustic shows he did last year.

He told the crowd BCC would be recording 3 in 2 weeks with the of releasing it in November  Xmas pressie list already updated!

I still got a British passport - not like David Coverdale...

    :p ;)

    (DC has dual nationality, btw)

Yeah...how true! I thought Fish wasn't too bad, I didn't know him before. I definitely liked "Forgotten Sons" but Fish himself seems to be a quite difficult character. Complaining about this and that, especially the small stage, was a bit childish. He couldn't really dance there? And then he tweeted that he "didn't want to watch GH as still slightly fuming at pseudo co headline vibe". Well, instead of sulking he better should have watched GH then he would have seen how it was possible to sing, play bass and dance on that stage!

I was truly amazed about the energy and feelings that came across as soon as Glenn and his band entered the stage. Wow, it just blew me away. His singing was so gorgeous again and I loved the drum and bass solo in "Keepin' Time"! Got it taped with some talking before (10:51 min.) and will upload it shortly, together with a 3-minute-talk of Glenn and "Cold" (8:31 min.) which I found very, very touching. Taking his glasses off for nearly two minutes while talking made him suddenly look very private and vulnerable. And when he then put his glasses back on and started singing I had a lump in my throat straight away. I love this song anyhow but the passion he put into it on saturday was outstanding. Just a pity that some "fan" kept shouting "Gleeenn!" every few minutes. (Maybe it was the same dickhead who spoilt the taping of the unplugged show?)
But it was also funny when a girl screamed "I love you, Glenn!" and he just said "I love you, too, darling. I give you five dollars for that." :D

Another favorite song of mine was "Can't Stop The Flood", what a great song! I don't know what it is but when I went back to the hotel I felt like crying. It's not just the voice of Glenn, it's the whole appearance and performing that was knocking me off my feet again. And I loved his pants as well, some really sexy looking patchwork trousers :)

  • But he says "...who I love to bits..." as well if I got that right? ;)

Yes, Glenn did say so. Still funny that he would mention DC and his US passport.

I used to love 'Uncle Fish' when he was in Marilion. He was such a good story teller! Whatever happened to him?

Well, to me it shows that DC is still on his mind a lot :)

And 'Uncle Fish' was still telling some funny stories as well (didn't get them all) and people were laughing. But he didn't touch me, there was no spark flying over. Then again some of the fishheads were clapping their hands to nearly every song, totally fascinated. So I think it's just a matter of taste and if you ask 3 different people you might get 3 different answers. But his complaints about the small stage were fact

  • What a great night...... I must be one of the few that enjoyed both sets equally... Thought Fish did a superb rendition of Assassin and was blown away by Forgotten Sons .......... GH was as usual spot on in his performance as was the band ......... Can't wait to find out what the "something special next year" is

  • Looks and sounds like Glenn was on form again!

Sorry i didn't get to see him at Manchester.

I'm very intrigued by the plans for next year :)

    Best wishes to all

    Paul

  • Seems Glenn has no plans for a solo album anytime soon so could 2013 be the year of BCC. Although I doubt Joes schedule will allow much BCC time.

I'm more likely to believe there is another project on the horizon of some magnitude.anyway it's fun guessing.

Anyboby else gots some thoughts on this ???

Well, his tweets changed by the end of last year from writing songs for BCC, then for a solo album and then for BCC again. So now it's another BCC album like announced first and I'm very excited and truly hope we'll hear a bit from it before November :)

I could imagine that a tour with BCC will be depending on the success of BCC3. If that album is a killer (which I hope) then I would see a chance of another big tour in 2013. Otherwise I could imagine Glenn teaming up with someone else as well. Don't know why but I still see him performing with Slash one day...how would that be for a guess/dream?

  • I envy those of you who got to see Fish & Glenn in the same show. Very different from GH musically, but I'm a big fan of Fish. I got to see him during his US tour for the 13th Star album, and was even fortunate enough to meet him before the show
