Heavyweight World Boxing Champion Vladimir Klitschko displays his Olympic Gold Medal during a humanitarian aid event organized by Klitschko Brothers Foundation of Kiev on March 29, 2012. The Gold Olympic medal which he won in 1996 in Atlanta was presented as one of lots and was bought for US $1 000 000 by unknown man. The buyer, as a mark of respect, returned the medal to Vladimir Klitschko after the auction was finished. (Photo by Klitschko Foundation Hand Out/ Str /AFP/Getty Images)

The setlist for the surprise acoustic set @ Oktyabrsky Palace, Kiev, March 30 (further live acts were Slade and Suzie Quatro)

    Mistreated
    Holy Man
    Medusa
    Catch The Rainbow
    You Keep On Moving

  • Good, but I prefer Mistreated and Catch the Rainbow by DIO  The ultimate versions of these songs were on Rainbow On Stage!

I agree to Catch the Rainbow (however, this was a tribute to Ronnie), but Mistreated is a DC song! ;)

    Finally...

  • Hi lioness: I really appreciate it that Glenn did this tribute to RJD  And Mistreated: it's a classic song. I like the studio version on Burn, sung great by Coverdale :) I like the version on Made in Europe (with rock me baby) more because DC is singing more powerfull and bluesy than the studio version (of course that's live). But the Rainbow live version (On Stage)was for me the definite version. Dio singing superb (better is not possible in my opinion) and Blackmore improvised a lot on that song. Great classic stuff.

I also like the Glenn version (on HTP live)a lot. Very powerfull! I''m not so into the unplugged version of this song, because I miss the electric guitar. So there are three great singers who did this song DC, RJD and of course GH

  • What a medley! Slade, Glenn and Suzi Quatro combined in one clip. Thought I would never see a combination like this ;)
    Superbly done! :clapper:

  • Back in the day, Slade was my fav band. They hooked me when Gudbuy T'Jane came out in the states. I still love their boot stomping music. Even though Glenn appears to have aged more gracefully, they are all worthwhile. Wish Jim and Noddy were interested in a reunion with Dave and Don, but, that probably will not happen. Thanks !

I saw Slade as opening act for Whitesnake in 1981. They were great, they truly rocked the house! :clapper:
