Not really surprising given her history, but I was a fan in the eighties. Terrible.

Heard the terrible news on the radio this morning. RIP Whitney
I wasn't really a fan, though I did like her voice. So sad that some stars can't handle their fame - or the money that comes with it.
My thoughts are with her family, especially her daughter. -
Terrible news.
Loved her vocals on Saving all my love for you. -
A fantastic voice but another troubled soul.
I remember seeing her sing live on UK tv back in the day when at her peak. She completely stunned me and the studio audience such that there was a pause when she finished as if they couldnt believe how good she was - then they burst into loud & long applause.
Every time a big star succumbs like this i say another word of thanks that Glenn made it through to where he is now. -
Yes, this was very bad news in the morning
Similar to Amy I was always hoping that Whitney would succeed one day and overcome her addiction. But she didn't...hopefully someone takes good care of her daughter now...
And yes, I'm also thankful that Glenn and some others in that business made it and got through! -
pray for her soul-as far as glenn goes when i read the part in his book -and i was looking for it-where he had an epiphany in the back of the ambulance-thats when i knew he was alright

It's all about the money ~ tells you a lot about the biz...

pray for her soul, such a tragical life
To be gifted is one thing, to be careful about the people who want to be your friends is the other. -

Typical...there will probably be another "Best of..." shortly as well...
At least the funeral won't be a stadium show for 18.000 people like first rumors said. -

............No, but it will be broadcast on the internet

She had a wonderful voice, but I cannot call her a 'Star", since Stars shine no matter what, and that she could not do. Just another swallowed by the greed and allure of the spotlight.
