Quote
For all DP MK3 historians: BCC are stayin @ the Famous Hamburg Hotel where Ritchie and I had a wild weekend (July '73)when I joined the Band
Glenn and Ritchie staying at a famous hotel here - probably up to some mischief
Can only mean that BCC are staying at Hotel Vierjahreszeiten (Four Seasons), best place in town.
Photos of the stage, venue, many cameras around. Saw Kevin Shirley twice. One from the camera crew said material from Munich, Berlin and Hamburg will be on the DVD
Detailed report and pics tomorrow, when I'll be walking on two feet again.
Good night for now
Happy tired Yvonne -
really looking forward to the blu ray. Will be interesting to see hoe they cut and paste different shows together. Not always a fan of that, always like to see one complete show, warts and all!

Thanx for the post Yvonne, NICE! I first thought that you had a wild weekend with Ritchie

We were so lucky on that Wednesday, for once it was warm and sunny. As Glenn said: "Isn't it a beautiful evening, an evening for Rock'n'Roll".
The venue was quite packed, I guess around 2,500 fans showed up, maybe even a little more. Intro started at 19:30, band came on at 19:35, gig lasted until 21:30. And what a gig it was ! Honestly, I haven't seen anything quite like it for a long time. What a band. It is really amazing how well they play together after such a short time, how well they fit together and how powerful they are. Jason's performance left a big impression on me (Bonzo can be proud of him). And Glenn was just everywhere on the stage.
During the first half of the concert I stood in the 2nd row in front of Glenn. In the 2nd half I wandered around a bit to shoot pics from a different position. I talked to some other fans who all were as thrilled as I was.
The sound was flawless, however Glenn had some trouble with his bass twice.
"The Ballad of John Henry" was started with the same drum intro as in "When The Levee Breaks", my fav Led Zep song. "Man In The Middle" had some tunes of "All Right Now" from Free in the middle and ended with "Won't Get Fooled Again" by the Who.
When the encore "Burn" came up, the crowd went totally wild.
After the concert, my friends and I waited at the stage exit where the tour bus stood. However, they left one by one, and two minutes later the band came out :p First Derek, who signed very little. Then Jason, who signed everything and answered questions. And finally Glenn.
My personal highlight? When I showed Glenn a photo of a 1974 homestory and asked him if he could sign it for lioness. Glenn said how do you spell that. I repeated very clearly lioness. Glenn: "Ah, you're from my website." Boom - what an honour, to be a fan of many and to be recognized like that.
Thank you so much for this, Glenn !
They then all disappeared in a black van, except Joe. As a heavy rain had started, I also left, didn't wait for Joe.
I came home soaking wet and feeling like the 14 year old teenager after her first Purple gig.
To those who still have the chance to see the band live: GOOOOOOO !!!
To Glenn and BCC: Thank you so much for a most wonderful eveningPlease come back next year, you are in our hearts.

Willem, Thanks for the flowers. Ritchie did have a wife from Hamburg at the time, but it was Babs, not me. So no wild weekend. Shame though...

Joe's solo - this was so incredible
-
oh, that's majestic, and i think this is the band Glenn is really happy with, you can see that is all huge inspiring to him.
Glenn, you're the Prince of Rock!!
And on the video Joe's last notes were "Stratus", Tommy Bolins big shot,
and the circle closes
regards
