Glenns' bass in the twitpic photo is really cool. A perfect fit for BCC! Thanks for sharing that, Glenn I'm casting my vote to see more of it on the photo gallery page. How 'bout it folks. http://twitpic.com/2ju30p

That Bass is just beautyfull!
it'll work great in BCC indeed -
That big bass is gonna rock

It's only a bass but I like it! Now we need to source one in Old Gold

What are your favourite Glenn Basses, aesthetically. I mean what bass suited Glenn the most in your opinions?

I asked Glenn about gasing for another bass and if the wife is fine with that and he replied "wife loves it..." Great to have such support from an understanding woman since I know someone such as Doug Aldrich a few years ago had to hid one of his new guitars from his wife for awhile

chuckle, chuckle... Conrad, are you trying to tell us that great axeman Doug Aldrich has to ask permission from Mylene if he wants to buy new work gear ???

Not exactly because Doug is sneaky and buys a guitar and hides it for awhile and later just plays it in the open as if it was part of his collection for years

then & now: Fender Precision - there can be only one!
the white Yamaha Signature Bass is quite a contender though!
Cheers,

I'm with you on that Chris. Now that Glenn has had some time on the road with the new gear, i'm wondering what his thoughts are about the Laney/Fender combo as opposed to the Ampeg/Yamaha. Any fans that heard it on recent tour, what did you think? -
....most of the pics over the years i've seen, he's playing a Fender Jazz, the white Yam BB2024x seemed to be 2008/9 time, the reliced fiesta red and white ones he's using at the moment are Nash Precisions, sound damn good thro the Laney valve amps. Bill Nash is an American (i think) custom bass builder.

The Yamaha BB was played through the summer solo dates of 2010. I just grabbed an old bass last weekend and did my first bass guitar gig in over five years last weekend. I enjoyed it immensely, I want back in and want one!

There is no such thing as "only a bass"
Bass is the way. It will shake foundations when other instruments wimper. It will shake the bones in your body when you watch "the band kick back and play" It is relentless. Feel the vibe baby!
Long live "the bass" THE BASS IT DON'T LIE !
Prefer Glenn with a Jazz though, or the Yammy
Oh, and you may have guessed I'm a Bass player. Owe it all to "G" -

me too. -
and it was right too. But the Fender precision on BCC album is a fantastic instrument. Kind of pianobass, very percussive but muddy and clear in one.
I like fourstring bass played with the pic. -

I think I read somewhere that Glenn uses D'addario strings, can anybody comfirm this?
-
Fender Precision! ! ! Enough said.
-
That Red Nash is fantastic. I noticed for Afterglow, Glenn has switched to an off-white 57P (similar to the Red one). Boy, does it have a wonderful 'growl' ! Although I don't mind, I wonder why Glenn switched ?
-
The white P is also a Nash as far as I know, I've seen him use both the red & white bass in one show (one for the set, one for the encore)
also seen him use a P for a set and a gold reliced Jazz for the encore (again Nash I think) and yes I am a bass anorak!!
