Glenn's new album title?

  • Glenn, like we need you to challenge us to guess
    what's the new album's title?
Cripes, half the time we're telling you what to sing,
what not to sing, and what we want for the CD artwork.
(I'm always demanding a smiling GH photo on the cover.) ---> :)
So the hint from today's "Twitter" on the Home Page
is that the new CD title is only one word, huh?

    Is.....CoversongsasdemandedbytheGlennHughesCrazyPeople...one word?

    No?
Then my guess is the one word ~ Unexpected ~.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My wish list for GH cover songs includes these 4 snappy tunes,
all of which would be "unexpected" coming from Glenn,
but since it's been proven conclusively that our boy can sing anything......

    #1. Blackbird, by the Beatles

#2. It's not easy being green, by Kermit the Frog
(Think about it, this choice is not as stupid as it sounds.)

#3. It's Probably Me, from Sting ("Ten Summoner's Tales)

#4. Yep, another version of "You Keep On Moving"
    but this time, without upping the voltage at the half-way point;
sung as a ballad the whole way through.

Anybody else got other album title ideas?
    Bring 'em on!

We probably have, but nothing that's more original than yours. So my vote goes for your title proposals Grace. Both of them :clapper:

As for the songs, apart from Superstition and Play That Funky Music which I've already mentioned, I would also love to hear our boy sing:
    1. Sgt. Pepper - The Beatles
    2. Roxanne - Police

there's more but I'll be nice stop here :D

    Live and let live

  • We have had a R.o.c.k and F.u.n.k in recent years so i hope Glenn would go for

    SOUL

  • I was taking a guess with Spiritual too! Or SOUL as also suggested!

Love the bad day suggestion though! That would be my word towards work who rang me earlier today - right at the moment Martin was down on one knee asking me to marry him! Yep - we're engaged!!! xxxx :bouncer:

    Love and hugs xxx :)

  • Hey Chutsler,

Meant FUNK ROCK, a la Soul Mover and Crave, rather than the more soulful ballads like Imperfection and Where There's A Will. I don't mind, it WILL be great :)

    Paul

  • Hey to all my fellow Glenn Hughes aholics! :)
My title would be "Cosmic Revelations"
Have a great week everyone! :)
    Galleyfan :)

    SCOTT

  • So, one word, huh?

We've had ROCK, FUNK and FEEL.
SOUL is a very good suggestion.
    PAPA? DADDY? Don't think so.
    GOD. Possible, but difficult.

I'll throw in 'NOW' then, or maybe even better: 'HERE'.
Yeah, I think I'll stick with 'HERE'.

    And some trivia...

    - Adrian Belew had an excellent album titled 'Here' back in 1994...

    - The Beautiful South had a scheme going with their album titles for a couple of years: every second album title was just one word (eg. 1990's Choke, 1994's Miaow or 1998's Quench, 2003's Gaze), while every other album title for the time being included a colour (1996's Blue is the Colour, 2000's Painting It Red).

    Cheers,
    Christian

Or even better Here and Now

    Not a one word tho'

    Live and let live

  • We cant have SOUL as we have already had Soul Mover!

NOW is a good suggestion but cant come up with anything decent from the letters.

    New, Old, Whatever! :D

I was thinking FREE would be a good title as Glenn is free to write and play what he wants and not tied to a musical category or record company demand. He's also well free of his demons of the past and on a whole different spiritual level where he's free to concentrate on music and life.

    Funk.Rock.Excites.Everybody

    :ghcp: "It's in my blood"

  • Thinking about it, "Unexpected" really isn't a good
possibility for the name of Glenn's new album.

We GHCPs are spoiled, because we expect each
new CD from Glenn to be unique, as proven how we
go "crazy" trying to review something that might sound
a little bit like "__________" with a touch of "_________."

Glenn's given us a lot of clues as to where he's at NOW.
    (Maybe that's the title?)

Well for sure it's not ~ "The same stuff you've heard before."
It's not ~ "Cranking out some sausages from the sausage factory."

And thank God that the new title is only one word.

"EVERYBODY POLKA" is two words :) :)

  • Along the lines of "Feel" and "FUNK", I'm going w/ another "F" word. I'm feelin' some "Faith" comin' on. Then there will never be any doubt again, if there ever was, that you just got to have "Faith".
Until we know for sure, I'm gonna be keepin' the Faith.
    peace,

  • I may have missed this, there will be a new one in 2010? That's great, I can't wait. I find new things on old CDs, enjoy songs and parts of songs over and over and never get tired - lately been listening to some incredible harmonies he uses, so creative with the background vocals...but anyway, always exciting thinking about a new work from the Maestro.
