Alive Drive NOW AVAILABLE
-
-
Just a quick note/follow-up...more soon...but the 'Alive Drive' will be available for purchase & shipment worldwide right here from the web site in the next week or so...keep you eyes peeled
It's a 2GB USB drive...so not everything will be available directly or indirectly (via download)...only streamed over the internet...some video is streamed and some not....the downloadable video will be highly compressed due to the size constraints, so the quality isn't suitable for viewing on anything other than from the video player provided within the drive. Yes, you can burn the downloads, but again, for video; the quality wouldn't warrant it. Having said that, a transfer to your existing iPod Touch/iPhone or alternative media player is possible, once you have the download on your drive. So it does offer quite a bit of flexibility
Please remember, the goal here going forward; is to offer as many recent live shows as possible and quickly, plus of course, exclusive content (not available elsewhere)...vs...only ever releasing a DVD or live CD every 4 or 5 years!
But keep the feedback coming
More soon... -
Following on from Wolfy's excellent suggestion re Vid converter, this free app may be worth a look:
Format Factory at http://www.pcfreetime.com/ -
For £20, what's on the drive right now is a bargain in my view.
As David points out this keeps fans much closer with what Glenn's doing as opposed to waiting for a formal DVD release and the like.
Watched some of the show from March from the drive, and that's exactly the type of thing I'd like to see.
So it's a big :claphandsfrom me.
Good work guys -
From someone has trawled through much video converting software (good and bad) to condense Glenn's footage from various sources, these two suggestions are a welcome addition to my armoury so thank you for posting them. Btw that's where my hair went. You heard it here first folks

Hi,
I could not go to the last week-end's concert due to my job but I will buy the alive drive, I think it is great! Is there any kind of pre order? I do not want to miss it!
Cheers.

No Pere, but not too worry; you won't miss out, it'll be way obvious once it's available from here

Great!
Happy to see the drive arrive.
Just one question... as I'm not sure about the wording of the announcement.
When you say "Video/Audio IN PACKAGE" does that mean there are separate audio files of the US (Boston) gigs? In other words, can the audio files be put on my iPod without the video?
Thanks!

No, the audio "in package" refers to the various tracks available in the Music Player only (which you can download for playback on an iPod) and the video is separate to that...so the Boston gig and soon to be available Wolverhampton gigs, will be video only. Although...if your iPod plays video, you can transfer it, as it's in QuickTime format, which of course is Apple iPod compatible. -
I just ordered mine. I'm looking forward to checking it out when I get it. Thanks for the little video demo David, I thought that it was helpful. Of course, I would probably buy Glenn Hughes toilet paper if they sold it so it didn't really matter what was on the drive or not, I was still gonna buy it.
Peace, -

I just got my Alive Drive in the mail today. I thought that the shipping time was pretty quick. I've only just plugged it in and registered so far, but I already am liking it more than I would have liked the Glenn Hughes toilet paper. I'm glad that they decided to go w/ the drive this time. Maybe when they release the toilet paper it could be in a whole little travel bathroom-type kit and we can all bring it w/ us next time we travel to see Glenn play (if the economy will allow us to do so). Just think, our hair can be nice and shiny after washing it w/ our "Big Daddy" shampoo and conditioner.
I should have considered a career in retail.
peace, -
Just got finished taking a quick spin with this super-cool device. Lots to see and hear, so glad that Glenn has offered this technology to us.
Thank You
P.S. the videos are awesome -
its July 1st, the drive is plugged in, and no sign of the Robin2 shows streaming!
and the "news" is a bit out of date too!! -
I agree Wolfy, I have been waiting all day. where is it guys?
-
As mentioned in the CHAT the other day, depending on your timezone, it won't appear at the stroke of midnight
plus the news on there will never be as current as what you see here on the web site.
But, I'm enquiring further as to when it might appear, as it is now getting close to the end of the day in some parts of the world and after all, it does clearly state July 1st, so I understand perfectly, where you're coming from.
When I hear further, I'll let you know, hopefully to say check it out now! -
i notice that Glenn isnt even listed on the NFF website as one of their artists!
-
I registered my Alive Drive last weekend, browsed around the content both online and physical, and it worked really well.
Yesterday I wanted to show it to a friend, but all I got was the preview of the Boston video and the advertisments for Varvatos, Yamaha & Gibson.
The content window on top does not show anything except a blank grey field!?
2nd day in a row I can't get access to anything now, which is frustrating, especially since it worked in the first place when I registered!
Anyone else having trouble with it?
Chris
