The Answer or Led Zeppelin revived...

  • Maybe you already know them!! but I found them out recetly thanks to Achim!
their album debut was released in 2006 with a special 2cd edition in 2007, now preparing the next album for early 2009
they are called The Answer and we could say they are from UK, across North Ireland ;)
I only can tell you to check them out here http://www.myspace.com/theanswerrock

the very Jimmy Page goes to their gigs and said "If you want to see what Zeppelin were like in the 70's, go see The Answer"
    and if Page says that.....

I deeply recommend you to listen to them

  • I checked them out for a bit. They do sound cool. I'll go back to their page when i have more time. I'm busy right now calling the (not so) old lady to let her know that we're going to be in New York in march.
I hear some white boy is going to be playing some FUNKy music there.
    Peace,

  • The Answer are great, yes! About time somebody mentions them here on the board - right on, Inma!

Yet I have had bad luck twice and missed both their shows here in Vienna.... :(
The first time around our guitarist's car was stolen and we spend half the night looking for the car and sorting out the formal stuff at the local police station instead of going to the gig.
The second time they played here in Vienna was only last Saturday, on a double bill with the excellent Black Stone Cherry (check them out aswell), and I couldn't go again...

    So maybe next time!?

  • I saw them a couple of years ago supporting Whitesnake and to be honest they blew Whitesnake away, their debut album is top class and well worth a listen.
If Jimmy Page was there watching them he could be casting his eye over the singer whose voice and stagecraft are very similar to a 1970`s Robert Plant

lucky you Iain!!!!!! I certainly keep an eye on their tour dates!! and yes you are right the frist time I saw a pic of them, I must say it was a small one I thougth the singer really looked as Plant back then!! :D

Hope you have better luck next time Chris! they play in London in Feb (I'm thinking of it!! ;)) but I'll wait to see if they put other dates when they are back from the USA tour

and yes! I knew about Paul Rodgers singing a couple of songs live with them... hehehehe happy xmas gifts for me!! loooool

  • I finally got to seeing them live - Tuesday night here in Vienna! :)
Loud and proud! That was really worth the wait.
And when the crowd wouldn't stop cheering and kept asking for more after the last encore they even played 'Rosalie' (Thin Lizzy, Live & Dangerous version)!
The whole show was filmed with (at least) 4 cameras, so expect some sort of Live DVD soon!

    Cheers,
    Christian

  • I just heard the song 'Highwater Or Hell' ... i think the singer has a good voice but the song is dead average! aint a pimple on Led Zeppelin's arse that's for sure! don't even compare

  • Hi,

Saw The Answer a few years ago. I wasn't too impressed by their guitar player. They have a lot of energy though, that's where you might wanna make a comparison to 70s Led Zeppelin. But there it stops. They ae supporting AC/DC during their European summer tour - which is a good thing.

    cheers!
    Fedor
