Glenn Hughes UK Weekend - June 2009 - CONFIRMED!

  • It is with great pleasure we can now officially confirm the weekend dates, prematurely released a couple of days ago - it's all set for The Robin 2 in Bilston, near Wolverhampton, England - June 6th and 7th, 2009

    Saturday, June 6th, 2009
Glenn and his band will be performing material from Glenn’s latest album FIRST UNDERGROUND NUCLEAR KITCHEN as well as music from his extensive solo career and classics from his time with Deep Purple. Expect to hear some surprises of rarely played songs, including some material that Glenn has never played in the UK before.

    Sunday, June 7th, 2009
GLENN HUGHES- ‘YOU ARE THE MUSIC’ - AN EVENING OF TRAPEZE
Glenn and his band will perform a unique and exclusive musical tribute to his former band, the legendary TRAPEZE. The show will consist of a full set of Trapeze music, including songs from the classic albums ‘MEDUSA’ and ‘YOU ARE THE MUSIC…WE’RE JUST THE BAND’. This guarantees to be an unmissable evening, as it will be the first time that Glenn will have played exclusively a full Trapeze set as a solo artist, and it will also be a particularly poignant and emotional evening as the show will be dedicated to the memory of Glenn’s dear friend, the former Trapeze and Whitesnake guitarist Mel Galley, who sadly died in July 2008.

A weekend ticket package is available. In addition, on the Sunday afternoon, there will be exclusive Trapeze & Glenn vintage film footage shown and also a BBQ afterwards for in between the film ending and showtime later that evening. All the details are at The Robin web site.

  • Both of these need to be filmed and recorded for cd and dvd releases.

The demand for the Trapeze show is going to be huge, i just know it!

Full details have been added to the Trapeze Myspace page in a new blog

  • What great news this is, the hotels in the area are going to busy that weekend, however i think the missus is going to be less happy!

I agree Wolfy, the Trapeze show must be filmed for a DVD release.
Also i hope that this is part of a full Uk tour in the summer of 2009

  • This is terrific news, and is going to be unmissable. I thought Glenn reached a peak when he played the Acoustic show this year, but Papa has just raised the bar again.

As a long time Glennie, I'm thrilled that our boy is doing so well. I't been a long time coming. make a good title for a song that ! :D

Oh yes! It's a bit far for me (from New Zealand) to make it, but having a dvd and/or cd of the occasion would be priceless!

    Make it so, somebody.....pleeeeeeeze!

  • Sounds like this is going to be ONE HELL OF A WEEKEND! :)

Already making plans to be there

Trying to bring a Glenn Virgin. Not a virgin for Glenn  Gabby would not be very happy with me for that :D

Hope to see you all there.

    Paul

  • Thanks Mikey & Wolfsmith,

it's an unique occasion. Wolf, If I need some help I will contact you!

    Cheers.

    Pere

  • Puttin' in my vote for a dvd of this historic show :singer: I'd go for the record on how many replays it takes to use up a disc! :)

As long as it also includes the Sunday afternoon Trapeze film footage on a bonus disc :p

  • Now I seem to be almost fully recovered from a year of illness, I'd love to see these two shows. Went to Liverpool this summer but had to leave before the end of the show, an absolute first for me.

Will definitely get everything sorted for these shortly - a great birthday present for my 50th!

'You thought that you could take me for granted, but I couldn't take it no more. Better run if you see me coming ... '

  • I don't think there's anyway we can make it, but we would if we could. I would suggest the same sort of thing would go over great in Texas if well advertised :bouncer:

I need a smiley with a cowboy hat, dammit. lol

Holy cow...wish we could go! Sounds awesome!! I went and bought a lottery ticket, though...always hope. LOL
