Im afraid im the bearer of bad news.
Here is a statement from Mel which is also a new blog on his page.
It is with regret that i have to announce the postponement of my two shows scheduled for the end of March. This is due to me having to undergo surgery to remove a tumour that has been found in my oesophagus. At this stage i have no other details i can give as i am awaiting further tests. I thought it best to be upfront and clear rather than just say "personal circumstances" or something similar.
All tickets already purchased will remain valid for the rescheduled shows. I cannot say when they will be but i can assure you i intend to play them.
I know there are several fans who have already booked flights and hotels and i hope you are able to obtain refunds etc.
If there is any further news i will keep you informed.
In the meantime my page and the Trapeze page will be looked after by my webmaster so please continue to visit. Messages and comments will be passed on to me.
Thank you all for your support over the last 12 months.
Nath, Chris, Achim and Inma...... i will be in touch with you soon.

I'm thinking about you Mel !!! It seems that all the bad s**t always happens to the good people.
Thank you for the update Wolfy and best wishes to Mel.
I was in California over the weekend and spoke with Glenn by phone while he was at NAMM and he told me about Mel's illness.
Glenn, as we all know, is a big believer in the power of prayer and is urging all Mel's fans to say one for him.
I spoke to Mel the following day, and he knows he "has a mountain to climb", but is extremely positive to come through this very difficult time.
"Glenn, as we all know, is a big believer in the power of prayer and is urging all Mel's fans to say one for him."
And that is exactly what I will do.
I love to wish Mel the best and hope he'll get well soon.
