Dan Fogelberg - sad news

Just read this news on my hompage. Sad news indeed. I remember Dan's music was all over the radio in the 70's. He had some great tunes.

Didn't he have one of those cult like Christmas hit's? I just can't think of it.. Help

He was a remarkable songwriter, and the biggest influence on my acoustic songwriting by far. His albums, Souvenirs, Captured Angel, and Netherlands were my favorites of his work, and had some very, very fine music on them.
It's very sad to lose a great artist that young, he was one wise man to write some of the things he wrote. RIP -
Truly sad. He was a wonderful writer and musician.

I read the news yesterday after logging out of chat. Way too young. RIP.

Scott, are you thinking of "Same Old Lang Syne"? Great song, but not one I hear too often around the holidays.
I don't own any albums by Dan Fogelberg, but I've always enjoyed his music on the radio. I think he was a natural wordsmith, who could write and sing a lyric that cut right to the emotional core of a song. A lot of people could learn a thing or two about songwriting from him.
RIP
Cheers...Todd -
Great memories of his talents.. Cold Illinois winter nights snuggling with my girl friend... with the soft smooth layered sounds of "Netherlands" flowing out of the old Magnovox stereo. Those were the days. I lived about 35 miles from his hometown of Pekin Illinois. Extremely talented man. Been buying his music since 1975. His music will carry on.
R.I.P. Illinois Boy...
