Dudley Pix!

  • Dudley - JB's - Saturday, October 18th, 2003

Tonight was another supberb performance from GLENN and the band. JJ Marsh was in fine form, especially on Wherever You Go, which was the one song change from last night.

The local crowd was enjoying every minute of the show and then GLENN also announced it was being recorded for a live release sometime soon - as are all the UK dates!

Mel Galley was also in the audience and GLENN made a special dedication to his old friend, just before launching into Seafull.

We look forward to Cambridge tomorrow night - where we'll catch up with wolfysmith and others again It was also especially nice to see Chuck who flew in from New Orleans - saw him last in Clear Lake, back in August!

  • Hey James,

Love the photograph of the meeting of 2 music legends!!!!!
So glad that you were firm with Glenn Hughes, and showed him EXACTLY
where you wanted him to sign that autograph!!!!!

(Or were you in total shock, and needed to touch GH's arm to see if he was real?)

I KNOW that you all had a great time, but we want more pictures and DETAILS!!!!!!!

  • Great pics!! I have to say that in all the years Karen and I ran the Fan Club and all the gigs we went to (which was loads) I reckon Dudley last night was one of the very best, arguably THE best.
It was far better than Bradford the previous night as the sound was more balanced, you could hear JJ's guitar better, and Glenn's vocals were far more at the front of the mix with his bass a bit less 'up front'. Also Glenn didn't have the dry ice to contend with which he told us later really makes life hard for a vocalist.

Highlights for me were Mistreated (again) and Higher Places ... this really is a killer track live and I think what pulls it off is the Bonzo Zep drum beat which really is right in your face. Great stuff!

  • The pictures make clear that Glenn was having a very good time , what is great! They also show the high vibes surrounding the venue environment . Really hope to see and meet Glenn live in Brazil ASAP!

  • Hi Kate - was hoping to meet you at one of the shows - perhaps London?

David and I met up with Chuck and also brought him along to the Cambridge gig this evening. He's going to start off Tuesday at the AC/DC gig at the Odeon, but will try and get to the last few songs of at the Astoria...bad boy

  • Hey Grace,

I'm reconsidering my self proclaimed status as "legend" after seeing Glenn live. I think it was a bit premature!

I had to make sure Big Daddy got that poster right - that one's yours! If he'd have signed it to "Gracie" I'd've have got an axe come through my bedroom door and heard a voice say "Heeee-rrres Grace!"

I've sent you an email about what happened, and as soon as I get round to it I'll throw my pictures and thoughts up on here.

  • Hi James - we got your pix...many thanks...the Bradford ones have been added to that topic...thought I'd save you some time and post them now Enjoy everyone - here are a couple more from the Dudley show last Saturday night, the first one, featuring JJ during one of his solo spots - courtesy of GHPG contributer and Fan Forum member, James Gaden

I should have been at Doooodloyyy but couldn't make it, unfortunately. I'm hoping to catch up with all the news from Carl when he's back on dry land! Give everyone my best wishes next time you talk to them - and I hope to meet up with ya before too long!

  • Thanks David and Shirean for great pictures!

    How quick time goes.

It was just a year ago when I was there at the JB's watching HTP in the UK and now am back in Japan but again watching the wall behind the stage of the JB's with great pictures of GH and the company performing.

Still there is the Karate school nearby ?
