I have never seen Glenn better than this Saturday. He was really amazing. The setlist was: Stormbringer, Might just take your life, You got soul, Mistreated, Getting tighter, You keep on moving, Soul mover and Burn.
Last time I saw Glenn was on Brekstad in the end of March. Then he was very disappointed with the drunk audience. He was not in a great mood at that concert. At Hell he was taking it all out. I can't fint anything negative from this performance, other than the set was too short. Glenn was not the headline this night, and I guess he had some time limits.
I am sorry to say (even though I enjoy Jeff Healey as well), that it was a shame that Glenn was not the main attraction Saturday. Glenn was stunning, and after his show Jeff Healey was a bit boring, I must say. I won't compare the two of them, but I feel Glenn is on a complete different quality level.
I had some friends with me to the Hell concert, and some of them had never seen Glenn live before. They were speechless after the concert, and they did not talk for several minutes. Looked like they were in chock! They were alle stunned about his master's voice and his brilliant bass playing, and I am sure that Glenn got some new big fans.

These photos are not of top quality, taken with my little Nokia phone.
Krister
Some great shots there notvoll - not bad at all for a Nokia phone!!
Love Jeff Healey myself but Glenn just blows everyone else away with his voice and vocal range.
Sounds like you and your friends had a brilliant time - thanks again for the photos.
And thanks for your quality shots too Christer
Thank you for those brilliant shots and good to hear about the shock on the faces of those who have witnessed true class for their first time! Bless 'em. Jeff Healey will think twice about having to follow Glenn on another occasion

Tomorrow will be a month () since the show in New York.
Believe me.........we know how these "Glenn Hughes NEW People" feel.
Thanks a lot for your review and pics Krister. Will you also be going to Gvarv on the 13th of july ? We rely on you to bring us back more great shots
David, thanks you for posting Christer's pics. Great ones too ! Cool to see Glenn and JJ together.
thanks a lot for the great pics and the review, I do love Jeff Healey tho I haven't seen him live ever, but you cannot compare, it's different stuff and I agree with Keith... who would dare to sing a note after Glenn? not fair for anybody to sing after Big Daddy!!
I won't be at the Gvarv Festival, I'm afraid. I am going with my family to Denmark when Glenn performs. Hope there will be some other fans showing up that can scan the happening for us.
Krister
I will hopefully be in Gvarv to see Glenn together with local Norwegian musicians playing Purple stuff. It has got a lot of positive attention in local newspapers that Glenn is doing this.. and I guess it is gonna be a lot of fun.
Arild, you're a lucky boy.
We are eagerly waiting for your pics...;)
Cheers
Nathalie
With many thanks to Christer Lorichs, here are some more pix from the Hell Music Festival
on Saturday, June 30th, 2007 - featuring GLENN, JJ and MATT.
Regarding Jon Lord. A member of the audience shouted to Glenn;Where is Jon Lord???? Glenn smiled and replied; I dont know, havent seen him in 30 years.
But hot damn what a concert, it still gives me shivers when thinking of it.
Glenn; You are my hero!!!!!!!
I thought it was pretty funny when Glenn asked the soundman to remove the delay on his vocals only to be told that it was natural echo from the surrounding hills
Glenn's vocal improv on Might Just Take Your Life is the most amazing thing i have ever heard. And what a great bass player he is. Totally amazing.
