You still wanna split, Grace, right?....

According to my precise records, David already owes me
about a dozen Manne guitars....6 blue; 6 ivory.
(Although he's being very difficult about the delivery dates.)

    OK, Chris....
I'll use the prize-winning money to ship 2 blue and 2 ivory, to you.
(Gotta' send at least one of each color to Ad, for finding that picture.)

    Hello, David :hi5:

  •

I reckon Pat's thinking 'those are wicked sideburns Glenn.' :p

'You thought that you could take me for granted, but I couldn't take it no more. Better run if you see me coming ... '

  • Hi Chris

It's funny, many English people say "Sideboards" (in my experience, anyway) instead :lol::lol::lol::lol:

What about "whiskers"? When do you use this word?

I find it very helpful to be a forum member, since I can enlarge my vocabulary. Almost everyday I learn a new word. I like that!!! ;)

  • Hi Manuella

Just before I get expelled for going w-a-y off-topic,aside from the 'cat's whiskers',it can refer to facial hair, such as a beard growth or more especially short hairs, either missed in shaving or 'Five o' Clock shadow'....oops,there's another thing

  • Hi Chris

You're right Ben most of us do. And then again, a 'sideboard' used to be your best cabinet in the 60s - 70s here in good ol' England.

Roger - can you believe this is coming up again? (it ain't 'crackin' flags today!) :p

And Chris - it's not in the German / English dictionary? That does surprise me. ;) :D

'You thought that you could take me for granted, but I couldn't take it no more. Better run if you see me coming ... '

  • My boyfriend calls them "bugger grips"!!!!!!!:D

.... (don't ask ......... Ill probably be expelled for being rude now... )

  • Ben, many thanks for the explanation!

So, in our case, concerning Glenn's picture, we'd better use either "sideburns"or "sideboards". Sorry for deviating from the theme!!

As for the 'caption contest' - I'm sorry, but I can't add anything witty after Grace, Shirl, Chris and the others ;)

    Cheers!

PS - Please  do not expel Ben for going off topic. It was all my fault!
    Manuella

  • PT, "Hey, didn't you date Linda Blair?"

GH, " Yeah! For a little while."

PT, "Why did ya break up dude?"

GH, "The cost of pea soup was just too much." :D
