first record you bought?

  • My first 45 was 'A Boy Named Sue' by Johnny Cash. My next single was 'Let It Be' by the Beatles. My first album was Johnny Cash - Live at Folsum prison. I believe my first rock album was Grand Funk - Live Album (I bought that because it was like $4.69 for the new double album).

  • My first album was a Rolling Stones Best Of from early years before "Satisfaction" included Alexis Corner. One great number on this was
    "Can I Get A Witness"!

My first single was Arthur Brown "I am The God Of Hellfire", which i liked.
This time was long before i was hooked up by Deep Purple, the Stones were nice but most i loved Mozart and Beethoven.

  • Sometime in the mid-70's, I picked up a copy of Alexis Korner's All Stars on Blues Incorporated - (Just Sunshine records). I believe I still have it. This was at a time I was trying to learn more about the early years of players like Jimmy Page and their influences.

  • Had been listening to Deep Purple before on copied tapes.
The first ones I bought were In Rock, Machine Head and Made In Japan, on all cassette, in 1989.

  • First record EVER was "Hello" Bend me shape Me
This image is a scan of the actual First Vinyl I ever bought.

First Hughes Purchase was "Hughes/Thrall" following Purple stuff

  • The final countdown-europe when i was 12yrs...
My first album with Glenn on vocals was Face the truth, that album gave me the GH virus ;)

  • My first single was 'Good Times' from the Easybeats, then followed 'In Rock' which infected me with the Purple virus. And I lived happily ever after... :)
