A couple of years ago we ran a Competition to see what everyone's favourites were at that time - it's a good starting point to see what folks were thinking then. Obviously since that time, we've had a flood of top notch material from Glenn, both solo and with others.
Here's the link which takes you over to the CTC section of the site - be sure and check it out:

My favourite Glenn Hughes song is the title track from his last album "Soul Mover" and also "Way Back To The Bone" from "YATM" from his Trapeze years. I also have many favourite Glenn Hughes songs too, but there is too much to name here.
Ayesha -
"Haunted" from Highlander II soundtrack. Love that song.

Yes, David, I can remember the contest very well....hard to believe that its almost 5 years ago...time flies like crazy.
Okay,
Favourite GH song (solo artist)
"Can´t Stop The Flood"
Energy, good hook, elements of funk, rock ect. just GH at its best
Favourite Trapeze Song
"Will Our Love End"
Just sheer atmosphere
Favourite DP (with GH) song
"You can´t do it right"
what a groovy and funky song...it often seems that a lot of ppl has forgotten this jewel.
Favourite collaboration song
"Freak Out Tonight"
so wonderfully retro-like made.....
Sure there are BILLIONS of other GH tracks which I love but would take too long to name them all here.
Basically, in my opinion "ADDICTION" is still underrrated and has some of the best GH tunes ever written and sung.
have a good one,

Hi!
David, I think it would be a good thing to run a Glenn song contest like the one in 2001 again. When looking at the candidates that time I realised just how incredible much top quality music Glenn has delivered since then. 3 amazing solo albums, 2 amazing HTP albums, 1 amazing and 1 avarage Voodo Hill album, Fused! and more than so.I definitely think that Glenn' quality in the 2000's easily surpasses quality of the 90-ies. Of course his work in the 70- and 80-ies will stand safe at their well deserved piedestals, but my guess is that a lot of his recent work would rank very high.
So what would be my favorite Glenn-songs?? Very difficult considering the amount of amazing music he has put out over the years, as you all realise...
Solo songs:
Miss little insane
High road
Can't stop the flood
Inside
Don't let it slip
Death of me
Lost in the zone
Gasoline
Purple songs:
This time around
Lay down, stay down
Burn
You keep on moving
Love don't mean a thing
What's going on here
Collaborations:
Who will you run to (Thrall)
First step of love (Thrall)
The look in your eyes (Thrall)
In your eyes (w Norum)
Face the truth (w Norum)
Time will find the answer (w Norum)
Kiss of fire (Phenomena)
Dance with the devil (Phenomena)
Phoenix rising (Phenomena)
Who's watching you (Phenomena)
Reach for the sky (Gary Moore)
No stranger to love
Angry heart
Haunted
Seventh star
I'm not the same man
I go insane
What you're living for
Alone I breath (HTP)
Losing my head (HTP
Missed your name (HTP)
Probably missed out on some vital stuff, but these came to mind.
Top 5 Glenn albums: Burn, Phenomena 1, Norum, BTM, Soul Mover, HTP2 (eh.. top 6).
Looking forward to the next chapter!!
BR, Per -
TOOOOOOO many to list! We all will go insane trying!

Wow Glenn had made so much good music that there's too much to list the fans wanna hear live. I sure do hope Glenn will realise he should do more obscure songs because 90% of his audience is fimiliar with it.
My 3 picks would be
What Is a Woman's Role from Trapeze
Courageous from Songs in the Key of Rock
Blue Jade from Addiction
...............
okay and a fourth :p
Let It Down Easy Japanese bonus track from Fused -
ah
... this changes way too often.....
momentarily, my favourites are:
Higher Places .... the groove on that one)
Losing My Head .... outro alert)
The Innocence .... outro alert again, the last 52 seconds.....
Wasted Again .... pure energy
24 .... I don't know..., I just love this song
and out of contest, since it's live, a cover and a bootleg:
Tarkus Live in Santa Cruz, May 14 1998 -
- please release this officially - the world
needs to hear this!!!

Can't do it.
There are too many.
Although I think that whenever we GHCPs are feeling low,
or are unhappy about something that's gone wrong in our lives,
we turn to "I don't want to live that way again."
There are songs, and then there are songs.........
but GH puts his heart into that one, and gives......US......strength
And whenever I frequently listen to my compilation CD of 10 differrent versions of"You Keep On Moving" (thank you JG) I simply can't get enough of that song.

ANOTHER TOUGH QUESTION!
THE SONG I CAN LISTEN TO OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN IS GETTIN TIGHTER FROM THE CITY OF ANGELS DVD
THE VOCALS ARE INCREDIBLE, AND I LOVED THE BASS SOLO!!!! JJ IS AWSOME, CHAD "WHAT CAN I SAY, WHAT CAN I SAY" THE BEST VERSION EVER. -
Yes this is a tough one and for me changes depending on what mood I'm in.
So now it's .........
Can't stop the flood
Inside
High road
Change yourself
Lost in the zone
Written all over your face
Higher places
I could go on and on
Next week it could be some others!!! -
Glenn's done a stack of awesome work, but the three albums I still return to are the triumvirate of Feel, Addiction and The Way It Is. Three different animals, each one fautless. Brilliant.
JG -

6. Coast to Coast- Same....

DON'T WALK AWAY -
completely impossible to easily answer given Glenn's vast output.
Generally my favourite stuff is his most recent release at the time.
maybe i could come up with best ballad, funk, soul, rocker, duet etc etc. but even then it would be tough. -
The following 5 songs stand out for me,
What is a womens role
To far gone
The way it is
Don't let me bleed
This time around -
Although there are literally dozens and dozens of jewels featuring Glenn, I'd really have to say that my all time fav tune with Glenn at the helm is 'Feels Like Home' from the masterpiece, 'Building the Machine'.
The track is probably the most emotionally fulfilling song I've ever heard. I have almost 2,000 CDs in my collection and I can honestly say that this one tune moves me as no other! The crescendo 3/4 of the way through it ecstasy, really.
Other favs (as of today!) are:
Don't Let Me Bleed (almost as powerfully moving as 'Home')
Blue Jade
Heaven's Missing an Angel
Seafull (Soulfully Live version)
Time if the Healer (Dep Sessions.....just so heavy!)
Wild Seed of Mother Earth
You Fool No One (such a classic)
Written All Over Your Face
