Glenn's LA connection

  • We all know Glenn has called LA his home for the past 30(!) years or so. Other than Beverly Hills and Palos Verdes, I'm curious to know what other residencies he's had in the LA area during all those years?

  • ...where he was living, but I just read from old Glenn Hughes Circle magazine - Rock and Soul - that he applied for residency in America in March 1978.

In 1978 December's magazine is being told that Glenn has got new band together. Band consists of Raymond Gornes on guitar, Michael Walden on drums and Glenn on bass and vocals. new stuff is more rock oriented. They had recorded new version of Coast to Coast - anyone has that?

Glenn's second solo album - where is that? - was finished in August 1978...according this mag...it was supposed to have songs like Getting Near To You, Fool's Condition and already mentioned Coast to Coast...it was supposed to be released by Atlantic...and Glenn had plans to tour next year...Glenn was free from all Deep Purple contracts already in 1978.

What happened next? G-Force? Four On The Floor?

C'mon - let's try to fill the blanks in Glenn's history...

  • Glenn also lived in Redondo Beach until 2002. Some of that area's former residents were Vince Neal and Revlon heir Peter Revson, one of the few americans to win a formula one race, sadly killed in 1974.
