Phenomena I Lyrics

  • I have the first Phenomena album on good ol' vinyl and the lyrics are included in the package. Digging through the vinyl collection always causes a flashback or three!! :D

  • Hey Tony,

Did you say a thousand? As in a grand, as in 1K?? Whew..the largest my collection ever got was about 400-450 or so in the mid 80's. I sold a bunch of records in the late 80's during some hard times and the numerous moves I have made over the years meant that the albums were in storage most of the time. At one point, my brother was taping a lot of my albums and some of my stuff intermingled with his....when he dumped all his albums at a used record shop, a lot of my stuff disappeared as well. My vinyl copy of Hughes Thrall was one of those casualties.....that pissed me off!

I think I still have about 300 albums; they are neatly stored in the closet here in my parent's townhouse. I have thought about unloading them from time to time....but have never followed through!

Now CD's are another matter...I do have about 1000 of those; the end result of almost 20 years of collecting. I sold about 75 of them during some (more!) lean times and had about 50 of them stolen out of my room when I lived in San Francisco...but I do have about a thousand now. Oh, and they are a real pain in the butt to pack so that they don't get damaged....when you have a black belt in moving as I do, you learn these things!! ;)

  • oh, the collecting.... :bouncer:

You might have wondered about my contributions to threads like the one with your name in the song title, the eternal quest for a copy of FFF or Ad's never-ending Pat Thrall completist odyssey, but it's simply as that that a day for me is hardly complete without music, and that's why I'm collecting, listening and playing music passionately, constantly discovering new stuff and re-discovering old, even in my own shelves :D.

I have already passed the 1000 mark vinyl-wise.
As for CDs I have long stopped counting, the current stand must be around 2500.
(Classical Music not counted, that's probably another 150-200 LPs and CDs)

Over the years, many many more have come and gone, bought, sold or traded. "Ordinary" CD reissues have been replaced by remastered ones, remastered ones have sometimes been replaced again by remastered and expanded ones, etc., etc., etc.

Before I changed branch 3 years ago, I worked in Record- & CD stores for almost 10 years - that sure helped.

P.S. before this has nothing to do with the original thread, I'd like to add that the lyrics, liner notes and paintings are also included in the original Phenomena CD Reissue, Castle Communications CLC 5073 CM from 1993 - out of print, I might guess.

  • even though it makes my wife crazy sometimes(why do you have all this junk? can i move it over here? i need that closet !!! i swear your like a junkie with this stuff!!! ) i still love collecting and finding old and new music :)

  • I too, have a ton of vinyl... I'm not sure how many, but I know it's near a thousand or so. I've recently come to the conclusion I must sell or move some of it on somewhere. Does any one know the best way? Ebay the way to go? I first must come up with the time to sort through them and decide what to keep. I'm a collector of the Beatles- and that's well over 100 LP's right there...they will not go anywhere! My Butcher cover made the evacuation trip with me by the way... I've often wished I had a bigger home, one with a large den- I would just wall paper the walls with the LP covers! What's in the future- when it comes to vinyl collectability? If they are not in pristine shape - should I let them go?

  • ebay definately.
as long as you are accurate with the condition people will buy it.

i've picked up some great vinyl from there - even Phenomena 1 in mint condition for £1.

needless to say, but Beatles originals as opposed to reissues are very collectable.

  • I asked for Phenomena I lyrics 5 years ago... And I haven't got it yet...

Well, they're obviously worth waiting for ;) :p

Good things come to those who wait....Better late then never....Don't get your panties in a bunch...and on and on ;)

I'm assuming before I attach these, you'll have to look at them actual size.

    Here ya go...
