Today ARfm in the UK previewed 4 songs from the new Tony Iommi solo album, FUSED featuring GLENN on Vocals & Bass, along with Kenny Aranoff on Drums. It's due for a worldwide release via Sanctuary Records on Tuesday, July 12th, 2005.
The first song previewed, I Go Insane is the full length track, but due to a request from Sanctuary Records, the 3 others are just half a track each.
Attached are the previews which include:
I Go Insane - Dopamine - Saviour Of The Real - The Resolution Song
Also featured are Gettin' Tighter from Deep Purple MK IV, I'm Gone from the 1996 DEP Sessions from Tony and Glenn and Soul Mover. Plus my very own request, Dark Star also taken from Soul Mover, the latest 2005 solo album by GLENN
ARfm will be giving a full length preview of the album at the end of May - be sure and tune-in then

once again i cant thank you enough!!!!!!!!!!
great music i have seen iommi about 3 times i pray that i can see this concert with glenn
and not be stuck waiting at the airport with grace
-
Many thanks for this - what can you say, I Go Insane is amazing with my other favourite from the brief clips being The Resolution Song - but as with anything Glenn & Tony touch, they all sound great to me!!
Can't wait for July and those tour dates of course :p
PS
Thanks for Dark Star Shirean -
Sounds great. "I Go Insane" is a really good song. Anytime a 9- minute song sounds more like four and a half minutes, that usually means they did something right!
-
Holy F.... Not Fused, Floored!!!
-
I totally agree - I have always enjoyed Tony's more melodic moments (Heaven and Hell etc) and of course this suits Glenn's soaring vocals perfectly. What an uplifting sound Wow I have just heard that riff/vocal refrain again at the end of I Go Insane and it kicks!!! yo!!!!!
-
Wow! Chad was right....
I CAN'T WAIT!
As always.... thanks to Dave and Shirean for taking such good care of us!

Does anyone know if Glenn plays bass on this?

Fast question, David.......
The version of "Gettin' Tighter" on this sound clip,
is from the new and improved re-mastered version,
"30th Anniversary - Burn" CD, right?
I ask because I can hear tambourines..........;) -
Don't think so, as it's on CTTB not Burn.....I didn't listen to it that closely to notice any differences.

For those with Sirius Satellite Radio be sure and tune in this week as Tony Iommi was interviewed last week and it will be broadcast twice this week.
Tuesday, May 3rd at 9:00PM EST and Friday, May 6th at 1:00PM EST on Sirius "Hard Attack"/27's weekly Bloody Roots heavy metal history lesson, hosted by Ian Christe. The show will also include rare SABBATH demo tracks, and two songs from the upcoming Iommi solo album, Fused.

Another Senior Moment!!!!
Of course you're right. David.
(Gettin' Tighter is from CTTB and not from Burn.)
It was just that the radio station sample was so clean
and crisp, that I immediately thought: re-mastered,
and with those tambourines, it led me to think of "Burn."
Looks like you win ANOTHER of my GH prize guitars........:(
Thanks again.

This evening in the USA, Sirius Satellite Radio broadcast an interview with Tony Iommi which spanned his whole career - pre-Sabbath thru today and the soon to be released, Fused, with GLENN on Vocals & Bass
Attached are 5 files - the first has just the 2 additional songs from Fused......Wasted Again and Face Your Fear plus comments from Tony, that they broadcast for the first time this evening. The other 4 span the entire interview which was quite insightful with some great stories from the early days....well worth a listen, although the interviewer was extremely nervous....either that or in complete awe of the legendary guitarist
If you'd like to tune-in directly via Sirius Satellite Radio, they're repeating the interview this Friday, May 6th at 1:00PM EST. -
Thanks for this David!! Your right about interviewer sounding nervous, quite noticeable..But it does sound like a good interview thus far.
-
Bloody hell....is every track like these
This is everything I was hoping for. Of these two, I really like Face Your Fear. Each of these feel like Glenn is able to stretch out like he hasn't done since Addiction....yet with a real contemporary sound....just perfect
July can't come quick enough
