Hughes & Turner Head To Russia

  • Hughes and Turner Are Heading to Russia

GLENN and Joe Lynn Turner are looking forward to collaborating and recording in Russia this Fall.

HTP's Manager, Mark Wexler states, "We were horrified that acts of senseless terrorism in Russia, especially with children, were affecting not only the Russian community but the rest of the world. Glenn and Joe will not be deterred by this terrorism and still plan on making their scheduled trip to Moscow at the end of September. We will be there to visit and work with musician Mikhail Men, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow and look forward to our trip."

  • Former members of the legendary Deep Purple rock group Glenn Hughes and Joe Lynn Turner are collaborating on a music project with no less than the deputy mayor of Moscow, Mikhail Men, who, it turns out, dabbles in music.

Men said he got the idea to record together with Deep Purple while listening to some hard-rock songs he wrote when he was young. “As a result, together with producer Alexander Berezhny we risked offering Glenn Hughes and Joe Lynn Turner to perform the music, Men was quoted as saying by Interfax.

The rock legends agreed, and together with the deputy mayor have set to work on nine new songs - Men wrote the music and Hughes and Turner wrote the lyrics to what they said had a distinct Russian motif. Speaking at the press conference, Hughes said he enjoyed working with this new kind of music and expected to surprise his fans. The album - whose working title is Made in Moscow, is set for release in December.

Hughes, meanwhile, said he expects to be visiting Moscow soon for a concert tour together with Turner.
