No better way to start de-lurking than with some vintage glenn pix.
The studio ones are from Burn sessions in the basement of Clearwell Castle, according to the photographer didi zill.
The live ones are from a 'test-concert' in Southampton , according to the photographer didi zill
The 'nature' pix were taken in montreux november 1973.

Recently Simon Robinson from dp.net had a meeting with ace photographer Dieter 'Didi' Zill. Here the message Simon posted about it:

Ooooooh, how I would love to browse Didi's archive. He must have thousands of pics we haven't seen. It's really a pity that the publishers of the DP photo book never decided to re-issue the extended version.
I'm still hoping to see some unreleased material of the MK III era.QuoteHis assistant brought a load of strange props (not something Didi was especially keen on!) and the results were those mad group shots with sparklers and Jon holding an egg in his mouth!
Voilà - here is the 'egg' pic (which is not in the photo book, but a similar one).

Obviously Didi could do anything with the band. Poor Jon looks quite silly here...

Apparently the reissue of the Didi Zill photobook will finally come on the market this year, an extended version with some never before seen pics. A date is set for October 1. Will keep you informed.

The publishers Schwarzkopf & Schwarzkopf have now set a release date for the revised Deep Purple Photobook by Didi Zill for November 15, 2013.

This time it has been printed in horizontal format and includes many new photos. (As far as I know, mostly from the Steve Morse era.)
As of today, the book is not yet available for pre-ordering on amazon.de.
You can find a recent interview with Didi Zill over here (German with English subtitles)

This week I received copy No. 154 of the re-issued Deep Purple photobook by Didi Zill. The edition is limited to 3,333 copies, all signed by the photographer.
Uuuuaaaah, what a difference to the original edition! The quality of the photos is brilliant, each with German/English description.
The are several new pix of the MK III era (Clearwell Castle, Montreux, Frankfurt, Windows).
Well worth the money! If you want to order the book, don't go to the publisher's site, they charge a ridiculous fee for shipping.
A little teaser:
July 1974 - Glenn and Paicey watching TV at Paicey's home. The drummer's house wasn't really furnished as he was hardly ever home.

Thanks Yvonne - I've been induced to order a copy myself.
Here is where I found it (with a discount)....
