QuoteDisplay MoreKEN HENSLEY - sets his life story to music
Ken Hensley was guitarist and keyborder in the original line-up of Uriah Heep (amongst others "Lady In Black") and formed the style of the band exceedingly until he left it in 1980 and continued as a solo artist after a guest performance in the band Blackfoot. Now he releases a concept album which reviews his life in an emotionally stirring way.
"Blood On The Highway - When Too Many Dreams Come True" is the musical version of his autobiography which has the same name: It is a story that begins a long time ago, when a young man dared to dream of becoming a rock-star, sacrificing family, love and security and ignoring the voices that said it couldn’t be done. The story takes us through the early days, the sacrifices, the risks he had to take and on into the crazy life he lived when his dream came true and he became an international star. But with the fame came the drugs, relationships failed and the music died. In search of a way out the same determination that had once taken him from a childish dream to the top of the world helped him. Hefound the way back... to an even better place!
Beside two songs that Ken sang himself he found top-class support for this musically fascinating album: amongst others Jorn Lande (Jorn, Masterplan), John Lawton (Uriah Heep, Lucifer´s Friend), Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Hughes) and the solo artist Eve Gallagher.
